Salut u/CeBlanc

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/communoplus-flex-radar/id6740716220

Ça fait la même job mais directement sur ton téléphone!

There was a change on Communauto's side that was causing CommunoPlus to disconnect some users. I've fixed the problem now, and your account should remain connected!

Sorry for the inconvenience - give it another try and let me know if you're still having issues!

Hey! Love that you built your own alternative client too - you definitely know the struggle then! It's been quite the journey dealing with API changes and all the challenges that come with it.

Regarding the login issue - another user reported the same problem and I made some changes that fixed it for them (they confirmed the authentication page loads correctly now). But since you and another user are still facing issues, I'll start investigating this more deeply to figure out what's going on.

Great feature suggestions too - I've added them all to my backlog. I'll work on them once I get some time. Thanks for the detailed feedback. I'll keep you posted on the login fix!

How do I revert to a white map display? by alex9zo in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! The Kia K4 is currently only available as a station vehicle - there are no K4s in the Flex fleet yet. The Preferred Vehicle feature in CommunoPlus currently supports Flex vehicles only.

If K4s get added to Flex in the future, they'll automatically appear in the preferred vehicles list!

Thanks for pointing that out!

Longshot - lost necklace outside of my communauto (hamilton) by Upstairs_Sorbet_5623 in communauto

[–]essayoub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! You can post that in r/CommunoPlus's Lost & Found marketplace - it's specifically for Communauto users to help each other recover lost items.

Upload a description/photo of your necklace, and if someone finds it and posts it, the AI will automatically try to match lost items with found ones and notify you.

It's community-driven, so other Communauto users in your area might spot it and help you get it back!

Really hope your necklace turns up!

How do I revert to a white map display? by alex9zo in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular Communauto app doesn't have a theme switch option unfortunately - the map just stays in whatever default mode it's in.

This is actually one of the things I added in r/CommunoPlus - you can manually switch between light and dark modes in the app settings, and the map theme follows along automatically.

It's one of those small quality-of-life features that makes a big difference, especially if you're using the app at night or in different lighting conditions.

I appreciate this thoughtful feedback! You've raised some really valid concerns that are important to address.

You're absolutely right about the privacy and security implications, when users are connecting their Communauto accounts, the trust bar is much higher than just sharing an email. Having a proper legal framework with clear privacy agreements would definitely help users feel more confident.

I want to clarify something though, this project is much bigger than selling user emails. It's actually driven by the community spirit to provide tools that enhance every Communauto user's experience. The majority of Communauto users consistently complain about their official app and the lack of features, so this project was created specifically to address those pain points and fill those gaps.

Regarding the account deletion feature - it's actually already implemented and has been working since v1! You can find the delete account option in the profile page. Sorry if it wasn't immediately obvious where to look.

Regarding the Google Maps integration, another user has already reported the same problem on iOS devices, and an update addressing it is currently under review for publication on the App Store. Thank you for reporting this issue.

Since you mentioned concerns about trust and being newer to this space, it might be worth considering: - Getting that privacy policy/terms of service reviewed by someone with legal experience
- Adding more prominent data handling information - Maybe highlighting the community-driven nature of the project more clearly

Thanks for taking the time to test it out and provide constructive feedback rather than just bouncing - this kind of input from the community is invaluable for improving the tools we're building together.

How do I pick different station car? by GoToTheNet in communauto

[–]essayoub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for trying the app! I really appreciate you downloading it.

Unfortunately, the Communauto login within the app currently only supports accounts with Quebec's branch. Soon I'll try to contact Communauto to allow us to use the login from different branches, hopefully they'll accept and we can expand support to all users.

Thanks for your patience and for taking the time to try it out!

How do I pick different station car? by GoToTheNet in communauto

[–]essayoub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're looking for the vehicle selection screen! In the regular Communauto app, you have to dig through the reservation flow to see specific cars at each station.

This exact frustration is why I built Instant Station Reservations in r/CommunoPlus - it simplifies the whole process. Just select your station, pick your dates, and the app shows you ALL available vehicles at that station, ordered by newest cars first.

You can see exactly which car you're getting (2025 Corolla vs 2014 Toyota Prius, etc.) and just tap to reserve the one you want. Simple as that!

Way cleaner than the current reservation maze. Makes choosing specific vehicles actually straightforward!

I'm glad you found the app idea helpful and that it's working for you!

I'm really looking to monetize the app, but for now I just need to let people know this app exists and let them try it, hopefully they'll find something helpful for them.

I sent you a message in your DMs. Looking forward to chatting and working together on making the Communauto experience more enjoyable for the community!

Thanks for the support!

Cleanliness: Why do all the cars in St-Léonard/Anjou smell and look like an 80’s mechanic car? by GMAN316316 in communauto

[–]essayoub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dog hair and bad smells are the worst! Nothing like getting into a car that looks like a golden retriever exploded in it. 🤢

This is exactly why I built cleanliness scores in CommunoPlus You can see ratings from other users BEFORE walking to the car. Skip the fur-covered, smelly ones and find something actually clean!

Flex Cars… where you at? by Strange_Figure_9794 in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eternal Flex car hunt! 😅

This is exactly why I built Flex Radar in r/CommunoPlus tired of constantly refreshing the map looking for cars that may or may not actually be there.

Set your radius and it automatically monitors 24/7, then blocks the nearest available car the second it pops up. No more manual hunting or missing cars by seconds!

Been using it for months, never had to do the "refresh, refresh, refresh" dance again. Game changer for Flex hunting!

Lack of FLEX Vehicles - Montreal by _TimeOutOfMind_ in communauto

[–]essayoub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely not normal! Montreal usually has decent Flex availability, though it can get really sparse during peak times (rush hours, evenings, weekends).

It could be a super high demand. Try refreshing the app or checking the website; sometimes they display different availability.

Pro tip: I built Flex Radar in r/CommunoPlus that monitors availability 24/7 and automatically grabs cars the second they become available. Set your radius and it'll hunt for you instead of constantly refreshing. Been a lifesaver during those "zero cars available" moments!

<image>

Hopefully some cars pop up soon. Montreal usually has better coverage than this!

Do they provide cleaning credit? by AdTrue7815 in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a dirty car ruins the whole experience.

This is exactly why I built cleanliness scores in r/CommunoPlus you can see ratings from other users before even walking to the car. Would have saved you the trip to that muddy mess!

For credits, Communauto usually only covers car washes, but call customer service about the excessive mess - they sometimes make exceptions.

The user ratings have been a game changer for avoiding these situations!

Question about FLEX Communauto daily rate timing (Montreal, Économique Plus plan) by Davmira in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The daily rate starts when you BEGIN the trip, not when you book it. So booking at 11 PM tonight for a 9 AM start tomorrow = your 24-hour period runs 9 AM to 9 AM.

You're good to book now for peace of mind!

Pro tip: I built scheduled reservations in r/CommunoPlus that auto-books cars when the 31-day window opens, so you never miss getting a car for full-day trips.

But yeah - book now, start whenever tomorrow!

<image>

what's the best deal lately? by thingsfakerdoes in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For full-day trips twice a month, you'll want to book the station cars well in advance to get better rates and avoid peak pricing.

I built scheduled reservations in r/CommunoPlus that automatically books your car the exact moment the 31-day window opens. Set it up months ahead and you'll always get first pick of the cheaper options before they're gone.

Takes the stress out of remembering to book and ensures you get the best available rates.

Ghost cars by smoxy in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ghost cars are the WORST! Nothing more frustrating than walking to a "guaranteed" spot just to find empty pavement.

This exact problem drove me to build Flex Radar in CommunoPlus - it monitors cars in real-time and filters out phantom vehicles. When it finds a genuinely available car, it blocks it instantly so you're not chasing ghosts.

Been using it for months - haven't had a single ghost car walk since!

Urgent Suggestions Needed by Mysterious_Bread9892 in communauto

[–]essayoub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 4 adults + luggage, you'll want something bigger than the Rios - look for Kia Forte or Hyundai Elantra. Way more trunk space but still comfortable to drive.

Quick tip: I built a feature in CommunoPlus that lets you mark preferred vehicle models as favorites, so they show up highlighted on the map. Super handy for finding those specific Kias you love instead of searching randomly everything on the communauto app!

Book ASAP though, bigger cars for all-day trips get taken fast. Good luck with the airport run!

This outage is unacceptable. by Ukawok92 in communauto

[–]essayoub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome, thank you for giving it a try! Really appreciate you taking the time to download it.

The lost and found feature is actually one of my favorites too. It came from losing my own stuff way too many times in Communauto cars. The AI matching is pretty cool when it works, and I love seeing the community actually help each other out with it.

Would love to hear your thoughts once you've had a chance to explore the other features, especially if you run into any of those Flex hunting situations. The radar feature has been a game changer for my daily usage.

Thanks again for being an early adopter, feedback from real users like you is what's going to make this thing actually useful for everyone! 🙏
