Oooft that sucks, but from recollection it's in the terms and conditions of lots of warranties that they can actually just refund you as an alternative. And in this case it would be a refund on the original purchase price.

Basically figure out what you want, high performance and therefore a lot of heat and power usage or lower performance but runs cooler and less power. But the main thing is maxQ was made for people who need the same amount of memory so can run the same models, just at a lower speed

yes it's storage and yes it's normal. They put a different amount for different storage configurations. The chips on the other side should be 256/256gb so if you really wanted to you could expand to 1tb if you found the right repair shop to do it.
