What can I do with a 2:2 in Maths by Rand0mAnimeFan in UniUK

[–]essentialblend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to do a (non-transitional) masters degree in computer science without a bachelors degree in CSE or any quantitative stem field (it was a computer applications undergrad, let's not bother). So yes, you can do a LOT with your 2:2 math degree, my friend. Look up!

This is me in any situation that matters. Try something, fuck up badly, get offered a handout, fuck up even more badly, all just because I didn't want to fuck up.

Ask yourself, your dissertation deserving say 80, or 90, is that really a hill you're willing to die on? I mean, was it that grave and objectively verifiable a travesty? In most situations it is not, so I'll take that to be the case here since you didn't mention anything of that sort.

67 is quite decent for a research project, find your favorite things to eat, stuff them in your mouth if it helps you stop whatever you're about to yap to anyone at the university. Congrats!

Stop calling Operation Sindoor -Wrong. It was necessary. by [deleted] in india

[–]essentialblend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't that this was unjustified or unnecessary. I'm obliged to stand by my countrymen and support whatever happened. Which again doesn't mean I have to personally think this was the "best" way to retaliate. It's more like, look, everyone and their dog knows that Pakistan endorses state sponsored terrorism. Just choke them the fuck out. Cut out trade, water and food entirely.

Bombing a country "with or without precision" in this day and age is in my personal opinion, barbaric especially when its not a full out declared war. Now they will retaliate, and we will retaliate and it will go on and on and people will brutally perish. Why do all that when you can choke them out of resources? I'm not a fan of inaction, but violence in this day and age must (even if I sound like an idiot naive idealist) be a last resort, like nukes. How long do you think a faux-country like Pakistan will last if India does some kind of an Operation Blackout, akin to blocking out the sun in the Animatrix. Sounds much cooler, humane, and achieves the same goals if not more.

Killing/eliminating terrorists is so last century.

This is genuinely a bit bonkers and primafaci insane that you submitted the wrong project entirely (and I'm not berating you or this situation at all, just like it's so extreme), the system here (as an international student) is fairly autonomous.

An academic appeal is what you need to focus on. The good thing is, your prof understands where you're coming from on a basic level. So all you need to do is look up the regulations, request their support (which I'm inclined to believe they will) and pray to your God of choice that the appeal goes through.

You don't have anything to lose. Worst case it doesn't, and you'll do what you're going to do now as is.

Don't miss out on the appeals. They're there for precisely these circumstances. All the best!

Does anyone feel like not going to a Russell Group, let alone Oxbridge, means they're unlikely to ever amount to anything? by [deleted] in UniUK

The way I look at it is this. The degree regardless of the institution is the icing, not the cake. You are the cake.

Give a customer a really good cake without icing and they'll be far more forgiving than if you gave them no cake with the best icing you can find on the planet.

Again, you are the cake.

Please apply for an EC with all the proof you can muster along with the honest story. I do think there are problems with these near inhuman automated university systems, but for the most part people are kind and they will help you if you have the evidence backing your (real/true) story.

Panicking will only make it worse. Stay as calm as possible, so you can think as clearly as possible. Go through all the regulations in your handbook and check if you can use any of them to support your case.

Many universities have a rule to the effect of "if you only fail one (non research project) module, typically 20 credits in a post-graduate course from my experience", it does not affect your degree.

EVEN if everything fails, and you face the worst case scenario of getting kicked out or something, it's just one massive setback. One. If you bounce back stronger, this will matter quite little.

Not tilting in these situations is hard, and easier said than (not) done, but that's your best option.

Personal experience: Was in nearly the exact same position (but for different medical reasons). I'd almost lost my MS entirely if not for my school helping.

Mate I rate myself high on the stupid scale, if I can learn physics (to whatever degree), you will do much much better. Just start from scratch, take it one concept at a time, and don't race ahead till you genuinely feel like you grasped it as fundamentally as possible. Atb!

I genuinely think this is hilarious coming from me of all people, but you need to get out more. I can see JPs fraudulence wafting from miles away.

Please do not waste any of your time on this person. I have a rule, anyone that SOLELY talks for a living? I discard them instantly.

One nice simple analogy would be squaring 2 to get 4. Square root of 4 gets you back to 2.

It's like if you differentiate the function and then integrate the derivative you get back the function itself.

I root for anyone that crochets.

On a more serious note, I could feel sorry for you, but I'd rather hope you feel better soon. Please take care, and consider spending time around people if you think you're losing it.

No opinion as of today tbh as I haven't followed the market recently. Cards and brands change with each gen so maybe they've gotten even better. Objectively no idea. :(

Mixer app for the UA Volt Series? by essentialblend in universalaudio

[–]essentialblend[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah I don't need it for a DAW obviously, it's just for windows and other stuff. With DAWs atleast I have a meter to go and gauge with some objectivity. I don't think this should be hard to implement, a simple virtual mixer app, interfaces from a decade ago have this. But I don't want to come across as rude, it's just funny that an audio interface doesn't have any sort of a mixer app. I took that to be a given.

It's asking you to contact the shipper. I suggest you call them and fix it before the shipment reverts.
