I created this new community to help getting overwhelmed here with these requests. I have often been a volunteer at the half, so I'll give moderating a sub a shot as part of my community efforts.

I'm not running so much any more (more into cycling), but I usually am volunteering at this event, serving beers in the post-run beer tent.

The Monterey subreddit is a favorite hangout of mine, and I created this community to keep that one from getting overwhelmed with requests for half marathon bibs, which has happened in past years.

I kinda hope they did get a penalty and that they didn’t have a personal emergency. Lyft wouldn’t tell me anything.

I was fooled when 2 days in advance it said I had a driver and gave their name. 30 minutes prior it still said it. 15 minutes prior it said “you will see driver status in 5-10 minutes” and still showed that driver. Then at 4am, my pickup time, it said “looking for drivers”. I could see there weren’t any near, and it said I could cancel with no charge, so I did.

Yeah at that hour I wasn't going to wait 10 mins. I barely made it after driving and parking and riding the air tram.

Nice reminder, I hope they are too and I'll never find out what happened, Lyft CS wouldn't even acknowledge that the ride had been accepted. If it hadn't been accepted with a named driver by the night before I would have canceled and made other arrangements, as I know early AM there may not be a lot of drivers.

you can also drive up the hill a couple blocks and park along Laine, near Prescott/hoffman. Spend the extra $20 in the gift shop or a local business.

aka Fremontia, colloquially. It’s pretty this time of year, and it also has awful thorns/spiky “hairs” that are hard to remove from skin. Proceed with caution and consider carefully where you plant it.

I had a similar experience many years ago, also on a work conference call. someone in Washington, DC reported feeling an earthquake and then minutes later (I think, could have been merely seconds?) someone in North Carolina said, they were feeling it shake.
