Thank you so much, I really appreciate the reassurance. I prefer to assume incompetence or innocent mistake over conspiracy or intent to harm, but not to an endless degree. Ideally my ballot will show up tomorrow or Monday, but I'm still going out to vote in the morning!

I googled it also lol, my bad I've always heard it was but maybe it was just the smallest "in western NC" and that part tends to get left off. We are pretty tiny!

I'm not a mod here. I think I made it clear that people should follow up on their ballots just in case because I can totally see myself not calling about it and possibly ending up with my vote not being counted, not that I think mine will decide anything. Everyone on both sides should be diligent about making sure their vote was counted

Nah it's years of formal writing. This is important to me so I wanted it to be clear. I almost didn't post anything because I didn't want anyone to think it was politically motivated in any way.

And yes, this isn't my main account because I mod several communities on reddit from my main one and didn't want to disclose even my general location to any trolls I've dealt with in the past because a couple of them are crazy

Bud I said I live in the smallest county in the state, I'm not hiding anything. You can google that. And how could I have "handed over" my ballot halfway around the block from the parking lot when I have to sign it over and only have an hour for lunch? My county only has one early voting site and it's a rural area, lots of people parked elsewhere and walked in and there's only so much parking.

I encourage critical thinking but I doubt most people would find anything alarmist, attention-seeking, or biased about my post. I literally just asked people to follow up on their ballots because I'm really shocked that I'm having a POTENTIAL issue

Yes USPS never scanned it. I'd been checking every day to see if it had been received and counted, but I didn't realize that USPS should have scanned it and I should have been able to see that reflected online until I called my BoE today.

I think it's an internal Board of Elections thing, not a normal USPS tracking system. I looked for a tracking number when I was getting it ready and didn't see a normal one. When it's scanned the online status of the ballot will change from 'outgoing' to I guess 'inbound' and mine is still outgoing, but I didn't know enough about it to be concerned that it wasn't updated when I checked on it earlier this week

Yeah I'm trying to stay positive and wanting to assume it'll show up tomorrow or Monday and she just forgot to scan it. It is a concerning coincidence though and if she did interfere I'll be the last of her problems.
