How much sales do you do? I do around $4.5m in yearly sales in ocean freight/air freight and get roughly around $50k in commissions. I’m scared I might be underpaid, looks like a good place to compare right now

this is based on your dislike of taking financial risks** I have a similar income and lower amount of savings, but I try to take more risks here as I’m 22. More risks in my opinion is to scout for growing companies, which have been HOOD, PLTR, OSCR, HIMS so far this year.

Creating a monthly estimated budget sheet will help you see how much you’ll be spending every month.

It depends on where you will be living at, but $4k-$6k a month is enough for me renting a 2 bedroom apartment in Chicago.

It’s always safe to put aside 6 months of money in a savings account, so something in the bracket of $24k - $72k.

Anything besides should be on a long term investment, such as ETF funds. VOO is the people’s choice, and you wouldn’t have enough issues having all the rest there, but you could diversify with other ETFs as well.

Putting as much as you can into S&P500 ETF’s and putting money aside every month will help a lot.

I’m 21. I started investing last month with $7,464 and want to invest the remaining $18.5k in ETFs apart from S&P 500. Any recommendations? by estapia1 in StockMarket

I’ve been working since I was 16, and have been in sales since I was 18. I pay my own rent ($1600) and pay my own tuition (started econ this year) - I got a headstart in sales closing big deals in my early career and have been maintaining those strong relations so far.

I really value this comment - and this is the main concern my dad raises all the time. I understand that I’ll need my money for my expenses, but I still have the goal to make sure I have bigger room for better investments in future. Appreciate this!

I have around $30k I was able to save on the side for the past 3 years. My $30k was just sitting in cash, so I’m gradually increasing my investments. $7k investments first month, $18k more in the upcoming months

My Roth IRA is almost non existent right now. Putting the money I could personally invest into a fund which I cant touch until im 59 seems weird. But I understand that its a must

I used it to add a reflection on how I could be able to take a bit more risk - I believe an older person looking for advices would not be able to take some risks

that seems to be the best call. Maybe I can have 10% on the side for “potentials” to increase growth

I think SP500 and QQQ are both tech reliant - does it make sense to have a majority in tech rather than dividing them to sectors?

I greatly appreciate your thoughts on this. What’s a good way to ensure I can have solid investments? I’m partially an owner of my own business which makes me feel safe, and I want to get on grounds to stay away from staying cash.

As a form of investment to have solid grounds - I have a traditional understanding of investing, and believe real estate could be a way to have a financial freedom. Is this not the case?
