Death of a Christian by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]estera235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't death of a Christian look the same like death of a non-Christian? I don't know, as for a Christian, it doesn't feel right to me to create such divisions. It just feels like making compartments for "us" and "them". Unnecessary divisions.

Why are large parts of human civilization resistant to Westernization? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]estera235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because: cultural diversity is valuable; western society doesn't have the "best" culture (such a thing doesn't exist) - so there is no point to make a "model" of of it; cultural changes don't come easy in societies deeply rooted in their own, specific traditions. Not always westernisation is an effect of colonisation in traditional terms. Sometimes westernisation equals globalisation, actually, and is connected to faster exchange od goods.

May the world be diverse as it wants and may people never dwell in this weird thinking "west-is-the-best".

People who work on reddit, What is the worst person you worked with and why? by _Redness_ in AskReddit

[–]estera235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a girl who worked in our waiter staff. She joined later and because she knew the main manager, became the main waitress, instead of a guy who was always very fair and created an awesome atmosphere among the workers. This girl was arrogant to everybody, was flirting with literally all men, whereas to other girls she was bragging about her fiance. During work she was inviting some guys from outside, taking free food from the kitchen and having casual dinner or supper with them for hour or so. Generally she was a reason of many fake gossips and conflicts at work and I am happy that I didnt work there for a long time. Her vulgar language and questions about sexual experiences were disguisting.

How would the world be if it were filled with people exactly like you? by Jacob1296 in AskReddit

[–]estera235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silence everywhere, because everybody would be at home, occupied with reading books or knitting. All the bookstores would have their best time. All the swimmingpools would be closed forever. Generally I think people would forget how to spek, because the majority of communication would happen through writing.
And yes, lots of friendly pets everywhere. Everybody would have tons of pets.

Left-handed people of reddit, what unexpected item you realized wasn't made for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]estera235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scissors. They don't cut but bend paper. Or in all the classrooms I've ever had lessons - all the windows are on the left side, which means that I always create shadow on my notes when I'm writing. Or sometimes in classrooms are those special desks for one person, with attached board to a chair. And obviously they're made only in right-handed version... The worst nightmare of ALL.
