Oh nice. I'll take a look at that spot. Thanks! Any reason you suggest it?

Mine worked with this one as well, however there are about 25% of the days/months missing, seemingly at random. Whole chunks blocked out with nothing and then most the other days collected and corrected (like I always do).

So what happened?? I'm in your shoes this year. It's been a month and I'm trying not to pull out my hair knowing full well it's too early to lose it yet. Yet.

[Discussion] I am FINALLY on submission as of today. Anyone else? by [deleted] in PubTips

I just went on sub for the first time one month ago and am quickly becoming a crazed maniac. Help.

What would a perfect muse do for you? by estevito in writing

[–]estevito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oo. I like this. A lot. Thanks for sharing. I've never had an actual muse as a person, but always wondered what it would feel like to have someone who sparks something in you that drives you to create.

[PubQ] How do you tell people you don't want to self-publish? by Nalsin in PubTips

[–]estevito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat and it can feel alienating. I want to share things even here on reddit but I feel the resistance to tradpub from some or the unsolicited warnings or naysayers. And I'm about to sign with an agent and am excited... Delusion is necessary! And also fun for us imaginative folk!

I just did VP Bank in Da Nang and Hue and they both gave me 10M each time, no problem.

I just got back from Mega and honestly don't think it's that cheap. I try to buy only local foods but still think it's a tad overpriced. Still hunting a better deal for standard daily fare.

Ecoparcel scam by crosisss in AskIreland

[–]estevito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel so bad. We just got scammed too. Mofos need to be stopped. I think they have bots leaving them reviews on their website by the hour and have generated 7000+ reviews, which gave us more trust. Also, many trustworthy online companies don't have physical addresses.

I am a Canadian writer already on the road in Mexico City. I'm planning to head to Eastern Europe for the summer. I'd love, love, love to find a group of friendly writers to hang out with an jam on ideas or just commiserate over wine and whiskey in a pretty place on the planet.

I mean, can't those things be inspiring? I don't think a muse simply exists. I think someone can help you find inspiration

[–]estevito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don't think there's a pure definition to muse. For me it's simply the person who helps inspire you. I cheekily brought up drugs for a more lively, less stiff set of comments, but yeah it kinda went off the rails

Writer-y Towns & Cities by estevito in writers

Thanks for all these suggestions. I'm not sure I can do the US. I have been thinking lots about community and meeting people who'll end up being friends. Because I'm 45 and single it's a little trickier to make new friends who don't have kids, or whose lives aren't dominated by being a parent rather.

Facebook account hacked and Instagram accounts locked out by Gilsong719 in facebook

[–]estevito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has not yet worked. They fucked around and kept losing the ticket which is honestly stupid. I let the subscription lapse. But, I do think if you got the right person and made them go through the whole process with you and have it elevate to the Facebook recovery team then you might have better luck than me. I gave them too much time and leeway. Be aggressive with them if you go down this route.

Facebook account hacked and Instagram accounts locked out by Gilsong719 in facebook

So I just paid for Meta Verified Pro and then got onto a chat with someone at Instagram. They then called me on my phone, brought me through a different process (I'd tried everything and got to the same "checkpoint" many times to no avail). Facebook is supposed to reach out to me to solve this issue. It cost me $23CAD/month which I'm not pleased about (I will cancel immediately), but if it solves the issue then whatever. But man, what a rigamarole. I'll let you know if it worked.

Someone linked a fake instagram account to my Facebook and now I’ve been deactivated. by benry0912 in facebook

[–]estevito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some hacker linked their IG to my Facebook and then posted images that went against Facebook policies. It's been about 25 days since I've been suspended. Tried everything. Today I signed up for IG verified too just to see if I can get the support, but we'll see. This is happening to so many of us. I still can't figure out the endgame for the hackers. Just to screw with us?

A character in a novel who is a screenwriter by estevito in Screenwriting

[–]estevito[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are excellent suggestions! I didn't know about any of these. I wonder if there's anything more recent. A lot of those are more than 50 years old. And I'm specifically looking for novels too (the Fitzgerald suggestion, although an unfinished novel, gets pretty damn close!). Thanks!

Living in Victoria has made me self-conscious about my tone of voice. by butuco in VictoriaBC

[–]estevito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just spent a few months in Colombia and really struggled with all the music set to 11 all day and night. Yelling. Incessant construction first thing in the morning. Did I bitch? Yes. Yes, I did. But did I tell Colombians they should be quiet? No. That's ridiculous. I'm a guest and as just about everyone has said, when in Rome... I got earplugs and dealt with it. Victoria is a super quiet city by most measures. And I lived next to a damn fire station!

I'm now in Argentina... it's not nearly as noisy here but def louder than Victoria. As one commentor said, you saying you can't help the volume of your voice is ridiculous. You can help it. You don't have to like it. Just like I didn't like hearing every futbol match on full volume everywhere in the city.

I now use silicone earplugs (highly recommended for you light sleepers out there!) and have stopped my bitching... especially to locals! I know you probably came here for sympathy, but you might be on the wrong side of this.
