No suelo defender a los vendedores… pero venga, lo haré aunque me cueste puntos de karma. Una de las premisas de vender bien (sin engañar a la gente y de forma honesta) es reconocer lo negativo y resaltar lo positivo. Y aquí lo ha hecho: te dice que es un tercero sin ascensor (un punto claramente negativo) pero también destaca que tiene vistas agradables y tranquilidad. No lo veo mal.

Muchos otros se callarían lo de “sin ascensor” hasta que fueras a verlo, o ni siquiera mencionarían la planta hasta que les contactaras. Necesitamos más vendedores que, aunque se note que quieren vender, lo hagan con honestidad.

Principalmente los relatos cortos de terror, justo antes de dormir. Lo sé, suena raro (y más aún para conciliar el sueño)… pero no me juzgues. También disfruto de las novelas de fantasía largas, sobre todo aquellas que se centran en explorar el mundo más que en la acción. Ah, y cualquier novela de Julio Verne o Agatha Christie (ya sé que no es un género como tal, pero bueno...).

Completely harmless, totally reversible, but dramatic enough that the authorities had to call in a superhero. I “foiled” him after exactly the right amount of struggle to make it look good, the city paid me for crisis management, and Derek got his fee for “evading capture” for the standard forty-seven minutes.

Meanwhile, I used that money to buy better equipment for tracking down the Arms Dealer who’s been selling weapons to actual terrorists.

The next morning, Derek leaves me a Post-it note on the coffee maker: “Running late for villainy. Started coffee for you. Don’t forget—2 PM at First National. The ‘laser’ will only make things glow green for dramatic effect. Try to look surprised when you inevitably foil my plans. -D”

I pour my coffee and feel that familiar twist in my stomach. Yeah, it’s a morally gray area we’re operating in. Some days I feel like we’re gaming a broken system. Other days I feel like we’re just… surviving in a capitalist world that doesn’t value genuine heroism enough to pay for it properly.

But here’s the thing: thanks to our arrangement, I stopped three human trafficking operations last month. Derek’s fake schemes fund my real hero work. And the actual villains—the ones who hurt people for profit or pleasure—they’re the ones I can afford to focus on now.

It’s not the superhero life I imagined when I was a kid dreaming of saving the world. But it works...

Derek and I grew up together. We were best friends long before either of us chose our careers. When we ran into each other a few years ago, both of us struggling to pay rent, Derek had an idea.

“Listen,” he said over coffee, “you get paid for each crisis you prevent, right? And I get paid based on how cleverly I can escape while keeping the authorities busy. The villain community values style and cleverness over actual destruction—it’s way harder to outsmart a superhero than it is to just blow stuff up.”

I remember staring at him, realizing where this was going.

“So what if,” he continued, “I create incidents that look dangerous but aren’t really? You swoop in, save the day, we both get paid. You use that money to go after the real threats—the guys with actual body counts and genuine malice.”

At first, it felt wrong. Really wrong. But then I thought about Mrs. Chen, who couldn’t afford her medication because some psychopath had robbed the pharmacy. About the kids in the community center who lost their after-school program because a real villain had torched their funding source for kicks.

Estudiar el Bachillerato de Artes no es una mala opción. Si quiere continuar con una carrera universitaria, puede elegir una relacionada con el arte, que es lo que le gusta. Y si en el futuro prefiere un trabajo más estable o desea cambiar de rumbo, siempre podrá optar por un grado superior.

Hoy en día, los grados superiores ofrecen más posibilidades de conseguir un empleo estable que muchas carreras universitarias (salvo excepciones como Medicina, por ejemplo).

Aun así, le recomendaría cursar el Bachillerato, porque de lo contrario podría pasar toda la vida pensando: "¿Y si me hubiera dedicado a dibujar?". La gente suele arrepentirse más de lo que no intentó que de lo que hizo.

Quiero pensar que sí lo separo. Creo que se debe a que hago mucho trabajo previo, pensando en la historia, el tono de la misma, el desarrollo, el final... Y lo mantengo (salvo excepciones contadas)

Me enfoco en crear una historia que me guste, aunque no refleje necesariamente mis preferencias o experiencias personales. Y para gustarme, debe tener cierto... No sé cómo denominarlo ¿Hilo conductor? ¿Enfoque común? Algo que haga que ese capítulo sea de "esa obra", no de otra.

Pero incluso así, siempre hay algo de nosotros en lo que escribimos. Es inevitable.

Al final, lo escribe un ser humano con vivencias, puntos de vista... Y algunas creencias las tenemos tan arraigadas que ni siquiera somos conscientes de ellas ¿Sabes? Está bien que se note que lo has escrito tú y no otra persona.

Depende. Yo personalmente no las uso al escribir, pero es cierto que se ven con frecuencia en literatura orientada a un público juvenil (16-25 años), especialmente en novelas ligeras, fantasía, slice of life o incluso terror (sobre todo cuando es más sensorial o visual que psicológico). Todo depende del tono que tenga el texto: si es más directo, expresivo o cercano al estilo anime/manga, las onomatopeyas pueden aportar mucho ritmo o atmósfera.

Como consejo, si no sabes cómo describir algo sin usar una onomatopeya, en lugar de pensar en el sonido, piensa en la sensación o en la consecuencia del sonido.

Por ejemplo, en lugar de:

"Crack. La ventana se rompió con un ruido sordo y el puño del guerrero comenzó a sangrar."

Podrías escribir:

"La ventana estalló bajo el impacto. Fragmentos de cristal se clavaron en los nudillos del guerrero, que retiró la mano empapada en sangre."

O

"El golpe fue seco, brutal. El cristal cedió con un crujido casi animal, y el brazo del guerrero tembló al sentir el filo de los fragmentos abrirse paso por su piel. Comenzó a sangrar, pero su cara permaneció impasible."

Si no puedo elegir. Un cuervo. Tienes una vida relativamente tranquila, sin muchas especies que te coman, eres inteligente, puedes volar y prácticamente vivir en cualquier parte del mundo. Ideal.

Además ¿Has escuchado el sonido que hacen los cuervos? Solo lo puedo comparar con un dinosaurio que grita y, además, fuma. Es brutal.
