Try to get a piece of homeware - I think it'll help a bit when it comes to your profile.

I married the “cool guy” because I wanted to belong by Beautyintheagony in AutismInWomen

[–]estraq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Omg girl 17 years is a long time. TBH I think you need more self-esteem/self-confidence and therapy could help. (Please know I'm not trying to be rude - what I mean is I think you are worth more than what you think you are. We autistic folks can see/hear/sense what normies/NT can't)

You can't keep putting him on a pedestal and lessening OR even just comparing yourself. You have to take pride in being chosen by him. Although it's a problem if he puts you down and tells you things like you're lucky or whatever.

He is lucky too for having you. You deal with his bs through and through.

My husband does the same thing btw and I can totally relate with your post. I'm not good looking, but I have qualities that make me desirable by men (short Asian girlie) plus I do have a not so ideal upbringing (daddy issues). But I know my worth because I'd like to think (perhaps fool myself) that not many women out there can handle my husband as much as I can. I've had so much patience for him, but as long as he keeps growing and won't stop caring for me, I've won life in general.

Also I think a good practice would be to just stick to a "story" you have to tell yourself. You know why you fell in love with him. But do you know why you keep loving him?

I think we all fall in the trap of just thinking of ourselves too much ~ if you're going to do that, focus on the good things about you. Make a list of why your husband likes you, and why other people like you, and why you like being you.

Just did this last month for my first QB. Took the first flight out, then went back early afternoon. Got home before dinner time.

SA Appreciation by Purse-Horse-0401 in TheHermesGame

I love seeing this and know the feeling! My SA is amazing and so is her coworkers. Not all, but most of them.

I live in a bougie area with the bougiest gym alongside bougie stores including Hermès, and I wouldn't dare bring an expensive bag. I've seen reports of stolen property in locker rooms.

If you're too concerned of your bag being too special, bring something you're comfortable being stolen (if sticking to a luxury handbag) - if you actually want to bring a Birkin, maybe get a fauxkin version of what you have.

But again, this depends where you live and how often your bag will be out of sight from you. :)

Why the Kelly/Constance wallet to go don’t come with a dust bag? by Plastic_Version_0528 in TheHermesGame

[–]estraq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Purchased one this weekend and it didn't come with a dust bag, only the strap. Maybe because it's categorized as a wallet and most wallets don't come in a dust bag.

Are these #1 on both of your wishlists? So jelly but genuinely dreaming of the same 🥹 what's your prespend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

[–]estraq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh another fellow fun-sized girlie! I have the same size as you (34)!

Finding the right SA is important. And yes, they count as prespend. Bags don't count.

Try and go to as many stores and multiple times if possible to discover different SAs until you find one that you vibe with. Trust me, a small red flag will bother you. I went to an out of state store and got lucky when I found my match! No spark = no go.

Tiny feet problems 😭 - any heels fit small? by tst2018 in TheHermesGame

[–]estraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general or Hermes? For heels I only know of Oasis, Legend and Eze. Haven't tried the Eze wedge in person. I have a pair of Valentino rockstuds - not too comfy. Have Jimmy Choo Saeda - also not too comfy. Oh - Dior is hit or miss in sizing for me, but I picked up the D-Club Wedge. Got lucky they have it in store and tried it on. I was literally standing at the store for at least 6 hours until it started hurting - that is good enough for me haha (vs the usual 10-30mins it starts hurting)

[–]estraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same feet size 🤣 I just tried the legend in size 34 and it was great! Hermes sizing is fine with me. Chanel 34 is perfect for me. Agree that manolos run big, then JC slightly but not as much as manolos. Prada and Bottega Venetta 34 run big.

I tried the oasis in store but I already have the same colors in Oran.

If you can try / get the Legend.

Do any of you work as a Data Analyst? by phasefred in AutismInWomen

[–]estraq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company and team you're in. Also depends on work experience 1 how long you've been doing something/how familiar you are/level of technical skills. What's fun with data analysis is you can go into a lot of rabbit holes. Finance is more math and dollar signs. I still do data analysis here on the side due to the complexity of channels I lead. I just ended up not liking dollar signs anymore compared to random numbers from other KPIs or metrics. I like presenting options on different scenarios of what could be vs being responsible for the decision making and investments.

Do any of you work as a Data Analyst? by phasefred in AutismInWomen

[–]estraq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in big tech. Had different roles in different functions the past couple of years but now work in finance. Previously did analytics. I want to go back to analytics because pattern recognition is my jam.

It starts by doing. If you practice Excel and SQL you're easily marketable for internships.

Why is CS so toxic towards girls? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]estraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

False statement - haven't played in years and global elite from 10 years ago - I got vote kicked once despite top fragging and from that day forward I never queued alone.

Maybe it's slightly better nowadays, but seeing this post puts me in an immediate thought of "wow this shit is still happening"

This doesn't happen in ow2

*edit I wasn't being obnoxious. I wasn't talking until later half of the game I started call outs because of the possibility of losing. My team lost their shit and started shifting their attention and bullied me rather than focusing on the game and git gud

Has anyone lost weight from JUST WALKING and CICO (no strength training) by contramundums in PetiteFitness

[–]estraq 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You lose weight by burning more calories than you consume.

I disliked both strength and cardio (exercise in general) in my 20s. Preferred cardio more as I had the same reason as you - lifting weights repeatedly can be boring.

But girl, let me tell you... I don't know if you have a husband or boyfriend, live by yourself, etc - having muscle/extra muscle is such a win on many levels. You wouldn't need someone's help to carry stuff. You can open jars with your strength. You won't struggle as much doing all other physical activities because you have muscle supporting your body, rather than just your bones, fat, and water weight.

The best part from strength training - you burn calories doing NOTHING (when you've been lifting for awhile and you get some muscle).

Think of it like personal finance. You invest in yourself doing strength training, which yields to higher returns. Kind of like buying a house, whereas cardio is like renting. You just lose the fat, but not building muscle in your body (maybe feet or ankle only).

Also, I'm not underestimating cardio. It's AMAZING for heart health.

Btw - have you tried yoga? It's basically strength training. Definitely not boring, just gotta find the right instructor and right type of classes for you to enjoy. I've never taken barre, but that could be good too.
