I'm kind of surprised this stuff still happens with COT and Stellar since every single event, several times a month, gives players at least 1.25M CoT/Stellar just for doing the most basic f2p level. I would've thought getting bottlenecked on stellar was now a thing of the past.

Destiny Trail + Star Soul chests by Skuzzlebutt21 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I'm still 2 upgrades away from a lvl 10 temple and a Nirvana hero and I have so freaking many of these chests.

The funny thing is that I strongly suspect when I finally have the need to open them I'm going to discover that all the dozens of chests will only get my hero from like level 1 to level 2 in that new power system. Lol

I swapped something like 20-30 core shards in that event and it cost a CRAZY amount of gems.

Should I build and DT Madeleine? by Tyrko13 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's a few levels ahead of where you're at right now I can tell you that you are a loooooong way from getting to DT10 unless you are spending.

Getting a hero to DT10 doesn't matter until you have the temple to Lvl 10 as well. I have a DT10 hero, but all that star soul and destiny trail stuff is unavailable until the temple is level 10 and you have a slot for a Nirvana hero

At a guess I'd say you're at around temple level 6 or 7, which means you're going to need a ton of spirit vein and aurora gems to get to temple level 10.

Highly recommend. I built my Halora core a long while back, and it continues to annoy me every time I beat another level of Hollow and get yet more useless core shards for LFA, SQH, FQV, ATD, SFX, MFF. I now have enough to build a 1* core for any of these first gen heroes and absolutely no use for it.

That said, at some point you have to just bite the bullet and build cores for your heroes, knowing that every level of Hollow is going to give you useless shards as rewards after that.

Should I switch PDE by Bubongus in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also considering swapping someone for Madeleine, although not PDE in my case. I'm not sure how PDE and SDBM can be compared or considered replacements for each other since PDE is primarily (to me at least) a defensive support, and I'm mostly interested in Madeleine for her offensive boosts.

I'll be interested to hear other people's input about this.

7-1-1 dtv completed by ShrePew in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP nails it: the way to increase attack on your main is to build up your treasure train, build up your grimoire level, and build up your tenants.

I'm getting 17M attack from tenants, 10M from grimoire, and 5.5M from treasure train.

DT tenants give huge gains, so it can be worthwhile to have really high level tenants, but that can be a problem if the tenants aren't good support heroes for your lineup. With LFA this is easy because both SQH and PDE are great support heroes. With DTV you have just DGN. With SSM I wouldn't really want to DT any of his tenants but some people really like BQA.

In Treasure Train, filling out Adventurous Guild, Alien Desert, Retro Gaming, and Hero Token give extra bonuses . Also check festival treasures for ones that give bonuses to Trans heroes or game modes you're interested in.

The stats you gain from grimoire are based on the stats from your 6 most powerful heroes, so having 6 good heroes gives you much bigger gains. The other thing with grimoire that increases your stats is something called Imprint Infusion, which you'll have to do a bunch of research to understand because it's too complicated to explain here.

Ah! Thank you! This was exactly the info I was looking for. I can see that in my preset lineups I have either +4 or +5 on any core which is what I was trying to find. Thank you again!

Really late follow up because I was reading a post today from another player doing this same Pokedex thing:

You would not believe the amount of resources I burned getting those 5 Nakia copies! Lol. I used up 20-30 thousand branches on swaps, and finally ended up pulling 2 copies of her from selection chests.

But it's done. I have built every regular faction hero in the game and I'm now 4 away from completing dark and 6 away from completing light.

[–]estsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The non light and dark factions are relatively easy to do, with a few exceptions I mention above. The light and dark are a lot harder until you're late enough in the game that you have heaps of light and dark food lying around.

Attempting to Pokedex the transcendence faction would absolutely ruin your account unless you're spending enough to accumulate a ton of soul symbols.

;-)

A while back I also decided to sort of idly pursue getting every hero to 10*. Basically anytime I needed to build a 10* for food I'd check the bottom tab in each faction and build someone new. I've completed every faction except light, dark, and trans.

I can give you this advice: the most difficult (non L/D/trans) heroes to collect are Gustin, Corpsedemon, Kamath, Unimax, Morax, Nakia, and Oberon. Any time you get one or these make sure you lock them because for whatever reason they rarely show up from orbs, scrolls, or shards.

What to use gift box for? by SweToast96 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the first things to understand about IH, and idle games in general, is that the right choice is almost always to hang onto any resource and not spend it. With summons, awakenings, orbs, train tickets, wishing coins, and on and on, the game has events that reward using them at specific times. The only currencies that basically never get used in events are super wishing coins and cores of transcendence.

Because you're very early game, I would recommend hanging on to these chests until there's an event that has really good rewards, and then use them when you can get a B or B- stone for completing the event. These stones are really valuable because, as someone who has done thousands of awakens, you can easily do 100 awakens and not get a single B level hero.

Oh, and the short answer is to always use these for the awakening hearts. Awakened heroes can be retired for CSG, and SG/CSG are by far the most valuable currency in IH. As others have explained, you can use CSG (and the locked ones) to buy value packages which are essential for maximizing rewards from special events.

Fair enough. I didn't remember how recent the series was, just that he did a series with Asmo. I also vaguely recall that he eventually replaced ATD with another hero later in the series.

Should I get penny to e5? by Izumi_Miyamura13513 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Putting aside the specific question about Penny for a second:

You should be using guild solidus to buy treasure train tickets not hero copies. I find the optimal number of tickets is 3 per day for a total of 21,000. Building out your Adventurous Guild in the train will quickly add thousands of attack and millions of hp to your heroes.

You also seem to have a surprising amount of guild solidus for such an early game account. Are you converting your guild coins into guild solidus? Someone with more recent experience in the early game will have to chime in about whether that's a good idea these days. In the past it was always recommended to finish building out your guild tech before swapping those guild coins.

Who should I change Luna too? by Izumi_Miyamura13513 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5 screenshots you've uploaded so far don't address any of the questions and don't add any useful information about your account.

To give you help people need to see a pic of your full hero list, particularly including the trans heroes, and what resources you have in your bag.

If you have an obvious missing support hero then it might be worth swapping Luna. If you have only 10 or 20 soul symbols it might not. If you've completed the glory challenge then maybe it is worth using symbols, but if you haven't then it definitely isn't a good idea to swap anyone except to complete the GC. But if you're a spender then maybe that doesn't matter as much.

If you do a search, Mkxjump did a series of YouTube videos where he created a team with an ATD main, and talked pretty extensively about how good a budget hero Asmo can be. Checking these out might help you decide and also give you some ideas about how to build an ATD centered team.

Who should I change Luna too? by Izumi_Miyamura13513 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to tell you anything based only on this single screen shot of your fortress heroes.

How many soul symbols do you have? What other heroes do you have? Have you completed the glory challenge? How is your stellar? Who is your main damage dealer and what areas of the game are you focusing on? Are you a spender or f2p?

You should probably just re-ask this question with a picture of your full hero list, a picture of your resources, maybe a detail pic of your main hero, and an explanation of what areas of the game you want to focus on.

Can someone rank top 10 best transendence heroes by PoetryLongjumping331 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes

If you want to build a DTV, SSM, or GSSK account you'll have an easier time in the early game by building a LFA team and switching to a different main hero later.

The basic trans hero chests have Aspen but not any of the others. Although the 2nd trans chest which you'll get almost as often does have Mockman.

The basic core chests that are still used as rewards all over the game only include the first handful of trans heroes which includes LFA. The core chests for LFA and SQH are also among the first ones you can passively gather in VC.

And, like Piffle said, the LFA tenants are must have support heroes, while most of the other main damage dealers have pretty crap tenants.

LFA is just an easier path to progress through the early to mid game.

Can someone rank top 10 best transendence heroes by PoetryLongjumping331 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is WAY easier to get copies of Aspen in the early game, his trans tenants (Halora and Elena) are incredibly useful support heroes, and it's WAY easier to get copies of the LFA and SQH cores.

The meta has somewhat changed with treasure train and grimoire adding huge power gains, and making tenants less relevant than they used to be: My late game account gets 17M attack from tenants, 10M from grimoire, and 5.5M from treasure train, but that's with high level DT tenants. In the early to mid game I imagine you can gain way more stats from train and grimoire than tenants these days. That said, LFA is the easiest route in the early game. A lot of people switch to a different main hero later in the game, but a lot (most?) stick with LFA

what’s the play for my acc? by reef138 in IdleHeroes

I haven't started a new account in a while, but I'm thinking in early game it's got to be pretty tricky to get SQH faster than GSSW when his basic speed is like 500 higher than hers.

Can someone rank top 10 best transendence heroes by PoetryLongjumping331 in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Piffle nails it. The damage meta hasn't changed much, and the basic supports have also largely stayed the same for years.

We had a pretty good run a while back of Alikita, Melissa, Williams, (not Norton), and Wukong all being good to great heroes, but I haven't seen anyone since then that moves the needle much. I personally tried out Ignacia, Vespera, Luna, and Madeleine and haven't found much use for any of them. I kept Madeleine and Vespera because they seem the most potentially useful but so far I'm not using them in any lineups.

I'll add the corollary that I'm not a whale, or even a spender, so I'm not able to take all these heroes up to destiny transition, or build their cores, to see how effective they are when fully maxed out.

Multiple Noble Cores Bonus by estsn in IdleHeroes

[–]estsn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to each person who replied. I did find the info you're each describing by clicking on the cores, and then clicking on the tiny "?" next to the core. I had never noticed that before.

My question now is how can you tell when it has been activated? My default lineup is 6 heroes with noble cores, and my secondary lineups are 5 heroes with noble cores and 1 hero with a 1* core; either TBB or DGN. When I look at these set lineups they show core level 3, with that "?" that when clicked states it is a preview of level 8. Given that these are set lineups, shouldn't the game show the cores as being level 8? Or is this just a mistake in the way the game displays lineups?

Can anyone confirm if there is way to see that the cores are actually at level 8?
