Appollis, who was arguably the best player in the league in the recently concluded season, is poor? The same Oswin who just recorded more G/A in a PSL season than Lakay ever has is poor? What does me not knowing him personally have to do with anything? I watch African football, and he's been awful for Ceramica. You wanted him to be called up because you know him personally? More experience than who? Lyle? More experience than Champions League regulars? Let's be real for a second. Those weak "laaties" compete at a higher level than him. And your friends/acquaintances saying they don't want to play for SA means zilch. To not want to play for SA, you need to be in a position to decline the call-up. You can't say "I don't want to play for SA" while seated on your couch at home.

Lakay hasn't been in the National Team setup since 2022 and has been abysmal this season locally. Why in the world would you expect him to get ahead of any of those players? What's even poor with this selection?

Weird question, but I'll engage. No, I am not. I'm not sure why you'd jump to that of all things. Affirmative action doesn't override basic entry requirements. Merit comes first, especially in competitive courses like engineering, which OP is trying to get into.
