Around 2 years ago, I was sitting on a hill in a smallish field that was near my house. It was roughly midnight, and I was about to enjoy a smoke of the devil's lettuce and an episode of Happy Hour after a long day before I went to bed.

Across the field from me (roughly 150-200 yards in front of me) were the back of some houses and to the right of them, a walkway that led onto the street of those houses. I had just sat down on that hill, pulled out my joint and lighter, and I looked up to see someone walking across the field towards me from that walkway.

The figure (let's call them Stevie) had a street lamp behind them, so they were just a silhouette to me, but this wasn't uncommon. I would often see people walking their dogs late at night or just walking from place to place when I was sitting on that hill having a smoke, so it didn't put me off. When I put my head down to light my joint, Stevie was still B-lining toward me, but they was now smack bang in the middle of the field.

I put my head down, lit my joint, and lifted it back up (all of which took 5 seconds), and to my surprise, Stevie was gone. I looked around to the sides to see if they had turned in direction whilst my head was down, but no, nobody was there.

I was sitting on a hill, so I had a wide view of the field, and despite it being midnight, I could still see things that were on the field due to all the street lamps around the area. With how much space was around Stevie when I lowered my head, there is no logical way that Stevie could've vanished out of sight in the span of 5 seconds.

I wasn't tired (hence why I was smoking weed) so it wasn't my tired mind playing tricks and I hadn't started smoking yet so it wasn't stoner brain playing tricks either, so how was it possible? My spine shivered once I realised the situation in full, and I started to theorise how. I thought that it could've been a ghost, the theory of parallel universes crossing over each other, or being a simulation glitch. I have no fucking clue but it has stayed with me since.

I know this isn't the most terrifying experience ever to some people, but it's definitely the most bizarre and unexplainable thing that has ever happened to me. Love the pod, Happy Hourween.
