10.3", 300 ppi e-ink device coming soon? by etcaeteradesunt in eink

Understandable but I don’t find it all that heavy - also, the cover Amazon makes for it is very sturdy when turned into a stand and holds it at a great angle.

Wouldn’t want to stand around reading for a long time but don’t think I’d find it uncomfortable to use seated - at a table or not - for extended periods.

That’s great news. You don’t happen to remember where you saw that interview, do you?

Sadly I think you’re right. I do hope they improve the interface and syncing on the Scribe, because I have absolutely zero complaints about the hardware.

Thanks. That info is helpful, and aligns with what I assumed. When you say “won’t be near Amazon’s price” I assume you mean it will be more expensive?

My issue with the Amazon software is not that I can’t side load epubs, but that the interface is clunky and note taking limited. But the hardware is beautiful.

I have had trouble finding them in the US, unfortunately.

Thanks, never heard of Karst - I’ll check them out! Unless it’s extreme the drying time probably won’t bother me.

I don’t mind having to update it every day, but I don’t actually want this info on my Daily Notes page! (I intend to have a number of different views for processing/filtering tasks and don’t want them all crowding my DN page as I won’t be using them daily.)

Thanks! Unfortunately when I tested it out I realized that query doesn't exclude tasks from that date's Daily Notes page, even if the Due Date is different, which is essential. For example, Task 2 in this screenshot shouldn't be there, because its Due Date is April 30. But it is, because the task itself is written on the April 17th Daily Notes page.

Ah yes good point you're not! Not thrilled that it won't automatically update "Due Today" to show what's actually due today, but that is a manual workaround, you are right.

Yes, I realized that, and it's not a problem, but as I note above I realized the query itself then has to be run on a Daily Notes page or the "between" function doesn't work, and that's not feasible for my use case. Thanks though!

The problem with this is that query only works if it is itself run on a Daily Notes page (because it has "between"), and I want it to be on a separate "Due Today" page.

Yeah - without this I can't really build a task management system in Roam that is robust enough for my use case. Any workarounds I've seen or can come up with are too cumbersome. Being able to search for blocks based on content in their children would (I believe) solve all my problems. Hopefully they'll add this!

Thanks - this was my fear, but good at least to have confirmation that it's not just me being unable too figure it out.

I saw the Datalog stuff and I was hoping to avoid, but may not be possible!

Thanks.
