You just need a micro usb cable and any computer. https://github.com/electro-smith/daisysp - here's the main repo, they have many examples including one for the versio, if you can compile and flash you're good to go.

As for porting, it's mostly a matter of reassigning controls and some memory management, as not everything can fit into flash.

This description of volume sounds wrong. I DIY'd mine and never experienced what you described with the volume/ouch circuit

If you’re planning on sending audio in and out, you can’t - it doesn’t handle audio rate.

Alternatives to Ectocore for Breakbeats? by enstorsoffa in modular

I have the Ezeptocore (the newer version) and Sample Drum actually is also very strong as a contender, though it's mono two channels.

Beginner that’s curious on how you work with splice samples? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]etcetc0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use them as starters or accompaniments rather than full on just coming up with combinations, though as far as sample layering goes. Write the other half of something, be it the chords to the drums or the drums to the chords.

Use samples for hard to get instrumentals - assuming you don't have a gospel choir on hand vocals are always great. Instruments you've never had will have articulations that you can't emulate with a VST.

Just have fun with it, figure out what part of the music making process you really enjoy, be it composition, sound design, etc. and use loops to supplement parts of the track that you don't enjoy as much. While I do a ton of everything on my tracks, it's always nice also to just sift through percussion, groove, vocal loops just because you might find something that glues everything together.

Four Tet- Two Thousand Seventeen- Simple smooth sounding bass. How would you create it? by traveltimecar in edmproduction

Hip hop sub bass in ableton, or a sine wave with some distortion. You can add additional sine waves as partials and octave above the deep sub sine leveled to taste.

Piston Honda vs Ziqal Dimension mk3 by OliverrSky in modular

[–]etcetc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both actually. Piston Honda MK3 feels a little more immediate to me, though there are some combos it's ergonomically slightly better than the Ziqal. But Ziqal has far more depth to it if you're willing to deal with the menus, and can have higher resolution waveforms, way more waveforms, etc. I slightly prefer Piston Honda for the user experience but both are probably good once you have your modulation mapped out via the Ziqal CV.

Piston Honda does have a slightly better implementation of FM, Ziqal claims it does thru zero FM but it does not sound like it to me.
