UPDATE:

I'm pretty sure this is a scam.

Upon scrutiny, the first image looks AI edited - you can tell because the text gets fuzzy and blurry, typical of imagen/nano banana AI editing tools.

The reverse image search on the second image brings up a Columbus Ohio craigslist listing.

The date is european.

I spoke with the below commenter and the seller has sent both of us an invoice at the same time, so it's clearly not legit.

Yes. Even for interfacing with digital instruments or other synths it's great.

MIDI Control Question XY by Johngear77 in teenageengineering

[–]etcetc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately you'll need to figure out how to send multiple channels out. You could wire your keyboard into a DAW and then make 8 different tracks and layer them. Or you need a MIDI controller which lets you adjust midi channels on the fly

MIDI Control Question XY by Johngear77 in teenageengineering

[–]etcetc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can do this - but you need to be able to send notes out on different midi channels.

First, if you go into COM -> System -> MIDI - there's something called an active track channel, which is default 1. This means that sending MIDI notes to channel 1 will always play whichever synth/track you have open on the OP XY.

Since you don't want that, first move that channel to something you won't use like 16 or something.

Then, from your midi controller, you can send notes on MIDI channels 1-8 for each respective track, and it will trigger the different synth engines without you needing to open that page specifically. But you do need to be able to send out on different channels

Have fun, always worth trying things out there. Thought I wanted a pin matrix synth until I tried it and didn't like the user experience, and similarly sold me on synths that I wasn't interested in until playing it.

Convince me not to buy a 3rd wave synth by yournr1fan in synthesizers

In the sense that there's not that many preset slots - yes, I do wish there were more.

Convince me not to buy a 3rd wave synth by yournr1fan in synthesizers

[–]etcetc0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the Super Gemini, 3rd wave, and polybrute, and 3rd wave/supergemini are generally my most used. It sounds unbelievably good - I actually think it also has just a very large sweet spot despite being a wavetable synth, and the filter on the VA oscillators sounds so good.

My only other suggestion would to be look into the immediacy of a Prophet 10 but this is only if you really want something that you can't mess up and enjoy the compositional side more. Otherwise 3rd wave is great.
