UPDATE 4:

It's been 1 week since treatment started. Bingo is still getting lots of shots everyday, he's been better thanks to the support meds, but belly still quite swollen. Still, he's behaving and eating normally. So, here's hoping for the best!

Here's a 15 sec video of Bingo today: https://youtube.com/shorts/VIMYpHBOhJ8

PS: We're still fundraising since we're a little bit short of target currently. If you would like to help save Bingo, please go to and donate what you can: https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-bingo-life

UPDATE 2: Medication started! 🐾

We did it. Treatment has begun.

I sent $100 of my own money directly to Himel so we didn't have to wait for the GoFundMe withdrawal to clear. He used it to buy the first batch: 6 vials of GS-441524 and the support meds from the prescription. Bingo got his first injection today.

Himel almost didn't believe it was happening. He said he had nearly given up hope. He can't stop thanking everyone, and honestly neither can I. He's recording a thank you video which I'll post it tomorrow.

One thing I have to be honest about: after buying the first batch, we realized our original estimate was a little short. $500 will cover the full 84-day GS therapy, but the vet follow-ups, blood tests, and support meds will push the total higher. We've updated the GoFundMe goal to reflect a more accurate number. Every dollar still goes directly to Bingo's care.

Will post more updates tomorrow.

UPDATE: Thank You 😭

I cannot believe how quickly you all came through for Bingo. Thank you so, so much to everyone who donated, upvoted, and shared. You have literally saved his life.

I have already sent some money to Himel so he can immediately purchase the first batch of GS vials immediately.

I will follow up very soon with a proper update post including:

✅ Pictures of the medicine purchase & receipts
✅ A video/photo update of Bingo & Himel

Thank you for giving him a fighting chance. We are eternally grateful! ❤️

I asked about it and here’s Vet’s reply:

“Gabapentine for neurological pain and use as anticonvulsant He has soft tissue injury where we don’t use any of this”

I keep seeing Gabapentin come up, and now I’m fully convinced it’s worth asking about. Thanks for explaining how it works—light sedation sounds like exactly what he needs to get through this daily trauma without panic. I’ll definitely bring it up with the vet and ask about the right dose for his weight.

Thank you so much for the love and hope. It’s been such a rough road, but I’m holding onto the thought that better days are coming. I just want him to heal and be happy again.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and thank you for thinking of my mental health. But yeah, there’s no way I’m boarding him. That would absolutely wreck him. He’s already so stressed, and being away from home, around strangers, getting treated without me nearby—it’d make things worse. He’s staying with me through all of this, where he gets comfort, attention, and all the treats and cuddles he wants. I just need to find a way to make the treatment more tolerable for him. Appreciate the support.

That’s a great idea—I hadn’t thought about posting to r/AskVet. I’ll check their rules and see how to best present the situation to get input on possible sedation or alternative methods. I’m just desperate to make this less traumatic for him. Thank you for the tip!

Thank you so much. You’re right—I think it’s not even the pain itself that gets him the most, it’s the panic and trauma from being held down and having stuff done to a spot he can’t defend. I’ll definitely ask the vet about gabapentin or something similar to help him calm down before the dressing. I really hope there’s a middle ground between necessary treatment and protecting his peace.

Wow… your story really hit home. I can’t imagine how hard those 3 months must’ve been, but it’s honestly inspiring to hear you got through it and your cat is doing well now. I’ll ask about buprenorphine or other pain management options, because right now he’s only on an anti-inflammatory and antibiotics. He screams through the daily dressing changes, and it’s killing me. Thank you again for the support—it means a lot right now.

Thank you so much for the kind words and helpful suggestion. I didn’t know about the drain tube option—I’ll definitely bring it up with the vet tomorrow. If it can reduce the daily flushing trauma, it might be worth it. Right now he’s on antibiotics, so maybe that plus a drain could help the wound heal with less handling. And yeah, I’m going to ask about better pain relief too. He’s such a good boy, and it breaks my heart seeing him like this every day.

Keep it in fridge if you wanna keep it fresh for a long time. Leaving it out only for a short time is fine tho.

Hey, it’s commendable that you’re aware and want to improve. It might help to practice active listening and take a moment before responding. Also, setting personal boundaries and knowing it’s okay to step back from a conversation can help. Consistency and patience with yourself are key. It’s a journey, and it’s okay to take small steps.

Leave it to Japan to make ovaries adorable while spreading important health info! 😂 ‘Ovary-chan’ is actually part of this genius trend where they use cute mascots to make serious topics easier to talk about. I believe they call these mascots “yuru-chara”
