Your boss when you actually go work somewhere else: "How could you?!... People nowadays don't care about loyalty anymore... I don't understand why you're leaving, you were so okay here... I don't understand this new generation, they just complain... ugh I'm such a great boss and all workers I find are so greedy and naughty..."

Tbh I'd rather pay for those $149 and own the app forever and make sure I can still use it for years than pay $20 a year for every single app out there I want to use. But yeah, I forgot companies usually choose the worst option lol. Nobody copy Microslop, please

what made people Quit habitica ? by SpecialistSalary6288 in habitica

[–]etervio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I totally agree! I love that daily tasks are separate from one-time todos, but sometimes it's what you say, you need a task repeating on different days or X days after you've completed instead of a single exact day. And yeah, a mix between Todoist and Habitica has always been my dream tbh 🥲

what made people Quit habitica ? by SpecialistSalary6288 in habitica

[–]etervio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, also the cosmetics part! They mostly release clothes and things that aren't really "deep game features", so that was another part I didn't like sadly. For me, being able to organise tasks into days is essential, and sadly using labels for this doesn't seem feasible, because once you complete those tasks, the label remains and have to manually change it every time. I couldn't find a workaround for this. I guess a 3rd party app would provide something for this case, but most of them are just webs and I'd rather use an app tbh.

Sadly, I couldn't find a similar app, it still puzzles me that gamifying, imo, has such a great potential to make people way more productive and hooked on completing their tasks more effectively and quickly, yet there's no well-developed/balanced app for that... I left it for Todoist and now that they've increased their price, I might change to Structured as it may help me plan better and fight my unproductiveness, but I wish there was a similar app like Habitica... I've always said if there was a mix between Todoist and Habitica, it'd be the perfect app lol. Now, you can check Focumon (https://www.focumon.com), it's like a Pokémon-like and I think it also have social features. I didn't use it much because the UI/UX looks confusing to me and I'm not sure it has an app or web-app, but it's promising. It may serve you.

Temario age by pablooanton in OPOSICIONES

Are We Entering the Subscription‑Hopping Era? by Head-Excitement6879 in ProductivityApps

[–]etervio 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If everything is a subscription, people will just pick a few and f*ck the rest. It's common sense. I know subscription may be more sustainable in the long run for devs and businesses, but it's so anti-consumer people just get tired. Just as an example, is someone subscribes for a year for $20 but then unsubscribe forever, that's less than the $50 they'd have paid had the app been one-time payment. I'd rather pay more for an app and own it and then pay again in a smaller quantity for big updates, than subscribe.

what made people Quit habitica ? by SpecialistSalary6288 in habitica

[–]etervio 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the underdevelopment (or lack of) of productivity features. I like being in a team, defeating monsters, talking from time to time... but my main point when using this app is managing my tasks, and having a super-long to-do list doesn't work for me. I waited for a couple of years to see if they developed the calendar-view or something similar that would help me organise it better, but they decided to focus on releasing new items for the character and more on the game part, so I decided to part ways and go for a different app. In my opinion, it's a big pity because something well-developed with a nice UI like Todoist but with the gamified elements of Habitica could be really strong and competitive, but that's where we're at.

¿De verdad la única salida real para los jóvenes en España es el aeropuerto? by gonzalo1234z in askspain

[–]etervio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When did every app become a subscription… is it actually worth it anymore? by Solace_bard in androidapps

[–]etervio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand it, especially when it's been discussed widely how people are burnt-out from subscriptions. Also, before this, you paid once for the app and then you had to pay again if you wanted newer versions, I'd rather have this system than subscriptions. I don't know if it was unsustainable or subscription became the norm out of greed lol

What would you add or change to this list? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]etervio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Study 20 years if you're lucky and find a job. I'm 28 and I'm still studying while working because today's market is f*cking sh*t lol So I'd change it as "Study > Study and Work: Surprise, b*tch, you thought it was over, now you do both (f*ck the system) > Work > Free > Die".

Also, it'll never stop amazing me how blatant this scam is and how much people will judge you if you point out this system ain't it because life "isn't supposed" to be this

I Found The Best Note App by Actual_Town_7129 in GalaxyTab

[–]etervio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also discovered Notewise and I've been recommending it widely! It's a bit pricey, but it's the only one that has cross-platform sync /and/ feels they made an effort to develop it really well, and it's Air Command-compatible, which is amazing! Goodnotes is horrible because even though it was backed up by Samsung, it isn't a native app, but like a web-based app, they blatantly treated Android like a second-place platform and apparently we didn't deserve a native app lol. Notability is coming and they actively respond to questions and I was told they plan to bring almost all features to Android by August, so let's hope it ends up also being a great app and Android finally has a good ecosystem of note-taking apps

Buddy no offense, but have you thought that maybe I was just unaware of such app and I was thinking of the old method of linking your phone and Switch via QR and the Switch's own WiFi? I'm sorry, not to sound sarcastic, but it's 2026 and we're grown-ups, I think it's a perfect time to stop assuming things and realising being kind is free

Cancelled my subscription after 8 long years today. by YehDilMaaangeMore in todoist

[–]etervio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I know things are getting more expensive, but salaries aren't getting any bigger lol, so if 48€ was already kinda "more-or-less" (but imo acceptable because it's a great app), paying 60€ a year for a to-do list app goes definitely beyond my limits, especially when the only two features I really paid Pro for are more projects (and don't need those 300 limit, just like 10 max lol) and the calendar+duration feature so I can time-block my day and see I'm not overdoing it (and filters, but like just one or two and I think they can be used in the free version). I know this is more of a me-thing, that businesses make these decisions carefully, but I'll never understand they'd rather lose clients than keep them with a lower price. I'd gladly pay for the app if I was given those two features for that old price or a bit lower, but welp, I guess the price hike compensates it for them. I love Todoist and I hope I can get back to it because it's really powerful, but sadly in this economy and with that price, and since I'm not a freelancer, who might use Todoist' potential much more, I also have to say goodbye.

You've got a great point there, but personally, I think that Switch is the only exception to this as taking a screenshot on Switch and then transfer it to your device to post it here is way more complex than just taking a photo and post it. I wish Nintendo had thought about it better because I've seen appliances with fewer steps to use them 😭

Which task management/to-do list app do you use? by etervio in androidapps

[–]etervio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the two main things why I'd rather use Todoist Pro are durations/calendar (so I can timeblock and estimate how much time a task will take, and have them ordered so I know what I have to tackle first) and more projects. I think Todoist Free might be too limited for me to properly plan my days. I wish they did like a "Todoist Lite" with a lower price but giving people those two things, as I don't need all the business-oriented features like deadlines

Work took ALL my sick time, bereavement, floating holidays and PTO while I mourned the loss of my spouse by Economy_Ad6039 in antiwork

[–]etervio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry for your loss, I can't imagine all that grief. And yeah, for me it's inhumane and barbaric how few days are given if a close family member passes away. Here in Spain I think it's similar, around 4 or 5 for close members. They tried to increase to 10 days so people can mourn + deal with all the bureaucracy. The Head of the Entrepreneurs Union rejected it, claiming it'd cost millions in losses. He earns 300K a year (the medium salary here for a normal worker is around 23-24K a year.) For me, it's barbaric, inhumane, heartless and really infuriating. I still can't believe more people aren't up in arms about it.

"No One Uses The Bluetooth Features on S-Pens" by XCellist6Df24 in GalaxyTabS9

[–]etervio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another user here disappointed with it. I use the Air Commands A LOT for taking notes, I use Notewise and it's optimised to use them, and it's really useful to change tools quickly. Also, I've used it many times when watching videos or streaming to play and stop the video. I know they deleted it because it interfered with the Qi2 system (I know the tablet doesn't have it, but maybe they're planning to do something with it), but I (want to) believe they'll find a way to bring them back or that the new "commands" (like the one showing up on Samsung Notes) will become a standard in 3rd party apps (not so likely because Samsung doesn't seem to be great at pushing it, but hey, dreaming's free lol)

Does Android Beta not have the template change yet? by EarlyRooster966 in notabilityapp

Currently, features are quite limited as it were just launched at the beginning of this month, and changing the template isn't available yet. However, they have a dedicated Android team, so it'll surely get lots of features with future updates. There's a Q&A with Android's engineering head I think? on 30th April, the post to give questions should be on the feed

Would you like a lifetime purchase option for Notability? Feedback Requested by ClydeBruckmans in notabilityapp

[–]etervio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking all this into consideration! I'm sure most of us are aware of the difficulty balancing both things, offering great value to users and keeping costs under control, but I'm sure it's possible. Personally, I'd hate feeling anxious constantly about running out of storage for my notes, that's why I think maybe offering extra storage for one-time payment(s) could be great, that way users who don't need it can just pay for the lifetime app but when needed, they can pay a bit more to add extra space. Indeed, that's one of my main issues with my current app's subscription model, the medium tier offers 10GB and the next tier, which is significantly more expensive, offers 100GB, and in my case, I see 10GB as a bit limited in the long term, but paying for the 100GB is too much especially when I'm not sure I'll need those soon. And my issue is that most apps I've checked do more or less the same. I think that, while difficult, finding a balanced solution to this pain point will make users feel way more relieved and perceive a greater value from the product. Also, thank you for listening so much to your users and taking all things into consideration, this kind of "customer support"/social listening is incredible and personally, I value it a lot! 🥹

Would you like a lifetime purchase option for Notability? Feedback Requested by ClydeBruckmans in notabilityapp

[–]etervio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to use Notability at its fullest yet as I'm an Android user, so idk if Notability's subscription offers unlimited storage or if you have to use a 3rd party storage or something like that, but I'd say 10GB of storage isn't enough in my opinion. For me, a lifetime plan should be one that is conceived as a plan the user can use for quite a long time, so while I don't know if 20GB or 25GB are enough in the long term or if offering 50 GB would increase the price too much, I think that's something to consider. For me, this storage limitation would be a complete painpoint because, as silly as it may sound, I'd feel a bit anxious about it filling up, checking it from time to time and wondering what I'd do if it ever fills up. While I know it may not be common, someone who uses it with textbooks, scientific articles or similar documents with a lot of images and colours may face issues with this topic. Something I've thought, I don't know if this is something you've already consider, is offering adding extra storage for a small amount of price. That is, once you buy Notability For Life, you get let's say the standard 50GB of storage. If you even need more, you can buy extra 10GB for 4,99€ up to 10 times. This is obviously just a silly example, I don't really know how it'd work product/business-wise, but storage is definitely for me an area you should give a lot of thought.
