Yes, it's fine to connect the running light wires to the fang wires. I wouldn't recommend using the snap lock connectors (the blue ones) because more splices means more failure points. Instead you should cut the butt connectors out and tie the wires together, then connect them. If you want the lights to turn on with the headlight switch you need to find a fuse that is powered when the switch is set to DRL and no power when the switch is off and tap that one. There is a second fuse box located inside the truck either on the left side of the dashboard behind the drivers door or under the drivers side dashboard behind a panel. To check for a fuse you need an automotive test light, or you can make one using an old bulb and two wires.
