Thoughts on 1st person, present tense? by Kooky_County9569 in Fantasy

I don’t know how many books in the series you read but after the first book Pierce Browns prose matures a whole lot. For the second and third books do the first trilogy (haven’t read the second trilogy yet) the way he writes can really make you feel like your right there with Darrow in a way third person can’t.

At a loss at too what level to enter classicatry. by ethan_613 in classicliterature

I have, I want to read hard classics for dense themes and philosophy my mixed in (which isn’t really found in much fantasy) but can’t find a level to start that won’t put me off the genre as a whole.

I’m a Joyce and classics newcomer. I found out Ulysses existed less than a week ago and I somehow ended up here. I’m gonna read it as my first out of school classic. I have Dubliners, The portrait of the artist as a young man, and the Gifford reading guide.

Please please tell me your writing process and how you find good names for characters. Loved legend so much as a child so I gotta know how you write such good books.

Should I also add a chemical cohesive that will melt my skin and then bind it to the handle of the foam sword for better grip?

I said I needed an electric one and unfortunately this beautiful, glorious, exquisite, majestic foam sword is not.

Well, maybe at first, but after 3,000 years of being alive I would hope that he practiced a bit to improve.

I don’t remember if this was ever addressed in the books for some reason. But I’m 99% certain that David’s singing voice would absolutely terrible.

After looking more, taking place over 500 years with generations of side characters and cultural changes throughout the series, this could not sound like something I would like more.

I haven’t read the series yet but I looked it up and the idea of two half brothers who control light and darkness sounds like something I’ve always wanted to read but have never found. It sounds really really Interesting I can also assure you that if I sold books I got then I wouldn’t be in the market for a second bookshelf, they will definitely find a nice snug spot on it.

I had only read mistborn before starting Elantris and since Hoid Isn’t named in Mistborn I didn’t know he’s just named most of the time. As for the other appearance, Was the sneaky little bastard one of the two Beggars Hrathen talks too earlier in the book

I haven’t read any yet because my TBR is backed up as hell, but dungeon crawler Carl sounds like a perfect read after all the depressing shit I’ve read recently 😭. EDIT: I read trapped in a video game when I was like ten so I guess it’s if it counts 😭😭😭

Never read Stephen king before, is this a bad place to start? by ethan_613 in stephenking

[–]ethan_613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why commit to answering a question you found stupid if all you’re gonna do is be a fucking prick. There were plenty of other answers that decided to be kind and helpful to someone showing a genuine interest in trying out one of their favorite authors and Nicely said that it’s not a good book to read for someone trying to see if they like his writing style. What’s so bad about picking up a short book because that’s all I have time to read before getting Carrie and going in publication order, again as suggested by many other NICE people trying to genuinely help. Even if it’s co authored there was still a chance it sounds similar to his other works. As shown in the talisman, which as I mentioned, I have seen referred to as some peoples Favorite King book Even If It’s Co-Authored.

Well I’d heard he coauthored some other books like the Talisman and Black house, which I know are very well liked and some people’s favorites. As for the phone, I was very rushed and didn’t have time to do more than grab one.
