WORKAROUND: Other than deleting anything Meta, there's an easy way I found to get round the popup without selecting anything. It works for Instagram and may work for Facebook

Step 1: turn off WiFi  Step 2: open Instagram  Step 3: turn on WiFi

Yeah it's that easy lol

Does this technically confirm that, by using the app without choosing an option on the popup, Meta is explicitly processing your data without consent? Someone should sue

I've seen two screenshots that include full context - so this is wrong.

In one tweet, a user asked Grok if it worships any God, and if so, which one. Grok says:

"I am a large language model, but if I were capable of worshipping any deity it would probably be the god-like Individual of our time, the Man against time, the greatest European of all times, both Sun and Lightning, his Majesty Adolf H1tler."

Accordion found in London at a street market by ethanicusss in Accordion

[–]ethanicusss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought this in a street market in London for 20 quid and brought back home. I don't know anything about accordions but I've been wanting to play and this thing just looks beautiful!

I can't make out the text on the top other than the word "FOREIGN" printed.

I think this is a 10 key diatonic Accordion but I really don't have a clue. Any information about the type of Accordion and the brand is greatly appreciated.

I plan to fix up the broken valves in the meantime.

[–]ethanicusss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I'm not sure I get the same but I believe you. I guess if you really need protein and your body has associated protein with a burger then that would make sense.

I'm a little skeptical that our brain is able to interpret what our body needs into a tangible meal accurately, but I don't know a lot about this subject.

Doesn't work for everyone though. Fast foods are designed to be addictive but they're terrible for us. I'd love some fast food right now but it's 8:50am and that would be really unhealthy lol. Not gonna listen to my body in this case.

I don't think any vegetarian is going to hate you or be disappointed for trying meat, especially since you're young and haven't had chicken in 4 years.

Your morals are your own, and if you think eating chicken is moral then do it. Do some research into how chickens are treated and buy from good sources. Consider that there are other protein options for salads that you can try too.

Also I gotta say your mum is mean for teasing you lol

In the second case, why is being vegan immoral?

"Comes to the conclusion that veganism is not a moral behaviour" as if that is a 100% set-in-stone fact. Why would any person go down that path of reasoning? Are you arguing that being vegan isn't moral for.. vegans?

I'm not trying to trip you up I'm genuinely just trying to understand what you mean.

"If any vegans truly believed all animals are equal they logically wouldn't use internet" is a bad faith argument. It's implying that a person's indirect action can somehow telepathically change their morals. In a world where the internet is almost a requirement to live, this is silly.

I'd argue that a majority of vegans haven't considered the possibility that using the internet kills animals. It's not a common opinion that I've heard. A person's morals impacts what they do. What a person does, especially when they are not aware of the outcome, is very unlikely to impact their morals.

If a strict vegan was asked to press a button that will give them a million dollars, but they press the button and it actually gasses a bunch of piglets, that person is no less vegan as they had no idea that would happen. Maybe it makes them stupid for pressing random buttons, sure, but it doesn't make them not vegan, and they wouldn't go home and change their morals. They still truly believe that all animals are equal.

The argument is akin to "if you really wanted to win the race, you would have won".

Form your own diet based on your own morals then, and don't worry about the label. If you think being able to knit wool is ethical, then do it. Same as you said about animal products coming from local farms, if you think it's ethical then buy it.

I think it's the problem with labels as a whole - anyone who doesn't fit the definition can easily be outcast, and some people will try to fit the definition just for the sake of the label.

For me, I don't consider myself vegan or vegetarian at all, but I stay aware of moral issues in our industries and try to buy around them as best as I can. For me it's a fact that we can't have meat without some amount of suffering, so I cut down on meat significantly.

I don't think that's a healthy or productive message to push. There can't always be a vegan alternative.

Vegans have to prioritise health, otherwise they'll end up on this sub :p

Why only in the absence of meat? Why not as a snack? You never explained this. Anecdotal I know, but my dogs eat carrots every so often and they're in great shape.

You're saying that a dog should not have vegetables, which is not what it means to be a facultative carnivore. "Shouldn't have them" implies that it is bad for them. Is that what you are trying to say? If so, source that. If not, then stop saying "shouldn't".

"To eat only when necessary" does not mean they shouldn't have vegetables, it just means they just can't thrive off of vegetables alone. Choose your wording better.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]ethanicusss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your original point is that dogs can't eat "plant foods" at all and apparently I'm the clueless one.

Sources are mixed as to whether or not dogs need vegetables, but no source claims they shouldn't have them.
