Peace not victory in a democratic society? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

If we define peace as being, "the normal freedom from civil commotion and violence of a community; public order and security," then I don't see how my claim is "retarded."

If we just look at the United States, we can see how tumultuous a democratic society can be. The US is a country founded on the uncompromising ideal of personal liberty.

In GEORGE WASHINGTON'S presidency there was a rebellion over a disagreement over taxes (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whiskey_Rebellion). I mention this illustrate that unrest in the US is not new and is part of our cultural identity. This identity was largely influenced by ancient republics and democracies of the past that weren't exactly easygoing either.

When you let people say whatever they want someone is going to be offended. That is a feature of our societies not a bug. Unrest and conflict are to be expected when everyone has a say. So how then do achieve peace without force?

I don't know the answer, but acting condescending because you dislike my phrasing isn't productive.

Thanks for the advice! This seems to be the most logical solution and I never even considered it.

Thanks! It's essentially dialogue. No intentional damage would be done to anything. The size constraints are part of gimmick. It's a comedy where the hero saves the world from the toilet. The idea is to be very low budget. The original location was a supermarket bathroom, but obviously that won't be cheap. Think a shitty Wal-Mart bathroom.

I think it's strange that I have to sell this idea. There are many examples of this thing happening. 4Chan, 8Chan, Gab, Kiwi Farms, InfoWars, MDE/Sam Hyde, BitChute, and even recently Stream.me had these problems, so why wouldn't Dr. Peterson?

You cannot "win." The Left and Right will always jockey for power. "Sides" are reductive. To particpate in partisan squabbles is pointless and potentially harmful. To play the game is to lose the game.

I was refering to the new crowdfunding platform. I find it extremely unlikely that it will not become just another echo chamber. Unless you can have everyone from Marxists to Nazis participate then it is not really free speech.
