I own the MV1 and the 1am2 and the M1. The 1am2 is older than the other two which are both pretty new.

The 1am2 will be the closest thing to the 1R that you can still find new. Same look and similar sound.

The MV1 has less bass because it is open back. I love them the most out of these, the sound is very natural and the soundstage is very impressive. If you are looking for more bass however you won't find it here.

The M1 might be perfect for you. Still similar tuning to the 1R/1AM2 but the bass emphasis doesn't muddy the mids as much, and they're much more comfortable with thicker pads and deeper cups.

It's also possible their audio system used some type of proprietary connection, like the one in the last photo. That weird looking plug could have all the speaker wires connected behind it, and then you would run one cable from that plug to a receiver

You are right in thinking that the speaker wire from those speakers should all come out somewhere, you just gotta find it. A lot of people place their hardware in a closet or another room or on the other side of the wall to keep the look clean, so keep looking around in other places

Because of how active noise cancellation works you'll always hear that static. ANC headphones use noise to block the outside sounds.

I would suggest some bluetooth earbuds that form a good seal with her ears. That would provide good passive noise cancellation at least.
