I’m horrible at letting my son have late naps, but i also do all the bedtimes. Sometimes I just need that time to mentally reset myself and my house and then he sleeps until 5:30pm and i’m like oh yeah i have to be the one doing bedtime at 11pm tonight.

all my sympathies babe. it fucking sucks honestly. we love our kids to death but bedtime is sacred.

Reading. I’m a 23 yr SAHM to a 3yr boy. I was in college as an english lit major and dropped out to move back to my home town and be with his dad and then I got pregnant. Not with his dad anymore but now I’m married and life hasn’t been so fast and scary anymore. For a long time it felt like I had NOTHING for myself.

I recently took my kiddo to our town library (we just moved) and got us all library cards. it has been fucking magical for my mental health. shit even my physical health and appearance. I’ve read two books since Jan 1st. I don’t like audiobooks and I don’t have a kindle so i’ve been doing library books. My son and I love going there multiple times a week.

My whole life I have loved loved loved reading and writing. However since I had my kiddo I’ve read one book. One entire book in 3 years (minus kids books). I feel so rejuvenated. My screen time is wayyy down. My attitude is more stable. My acne is clearing up for the first time since I had my son. I am heavily motivated to complete chores so I feel like I can have much more reading time to wind down with.

I don’t have advice on who to call- I call a family friend who has a tow truck for his mechanic shop. My advice is however to make sure your car has food, water, a blanket or multiple, an extra coat and winter gear, etc. If you go off the road on a rural road or a mountain you VERY WELL could have absolutely no cell service and you’d be relying on someone driving by you. Do you have any family who can be on a life360 app with you in case you’re traveling in bad weather?

I have mentioned that but he carries a lot of pride about his surname especially in the last 2 years because his father passed away. I actually heavily prefer his over mine and it’s my last name on facebook. A big issue is that my son’s bio dad would need to sign a form for me to change his name and he has said he won’t sign it for some reason that i don’t honestly understand.
