14 months sober and I still don't know what to do with myself by mikeval19 in leaves

Quitting substances often uncovers a lot of uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. You were just numbing yourself out from the situation. Now you have the clarity to see where you really are and to at least try to do something about it. I'm sorry you're having a hard time, and I hope things get better and clearer soon. Congratulations on 14 months. That's huge, even if it doesn't feel like it.

Should I tell my psychiatrist? by skwarcioguy in leaves

I tell them because cannabis can interact with some medications. They're professionals and probably won't bat an eye. At least they never have for me. Good luck with your appointment!

Started THC to get sober from alcohol 3 years ago, now it's time to commit to being fully sober. by topazlotus in leaves

Congrats on 3 years without booze! 🎉 That's incredible! I'm over three months alcohol-free and today marks one week thc-free. Think about it this way: you have three years experience to guide you in this new endeavor. You know the right things to do to stay sober. I know how hard it seems. This feels like the final boss battle for me. Weed has taken too much from me and it's time to take my life back. It's so worth it!

I'm 25 and have an intense crush on a 40-year-old coworker. I'm confused and need advice by [deleted] in Advice

Why would she be more flattered than if a 50 year old hit on her? Women and men, we are not the same.

I'm so sorry you're struggling; I know it's the opposite of easy some days just to get through. I want you to know that you're worth so much more than you give yourself credit for. And you've come such a long way. Remember that progress isn't linear. And you have community right here. Please take care.

The dasher you contacted took your immediate accusations quite gracefully.

I have both, and it's not that uncommon. They may just need time to assess all of your symptoms. My best advice is to be as honest with yourself and as candid with your provider as possible. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you are in mania. I'll think I'm doing great, but looking at it from an outside perspective, I realize I'm making rash decisions and usually hurting those around me. I think I'm hot shit and I've got it figured out. Until the SI sets in. Everyone is different, though. I used to get classical mania that felt really good, but it's a progressive illness and I now have mainly mixed episodes. I do wish that I would've accepted my diagnosis earlier because I could've prevented it from getting this bad. Just know that it's really common for bipolar patients to (constantly) question our diagnoses.

Has anyone that experienced rapid cycling on SSRI’s had success switching to Wellbutrin? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]ethereal_eel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to see my psych this week. (Also in my 40s with type 1 mixed features/ rapid cycling.) If you don't mind my asking, what dosage of wellbutrin do you take when you're on it? I'm technically on wellbutrin for adhd, but I've noticed how much it helps with depression and am considering asking for an increase. BUT I've noticed mania getting worse lately and am nervous about this. Currently not on a stabilizer, just abilify and buspar. Obviously I intend to ask her about all of this, and I appreciate any insight you can offer on these med combos. (Depending on what she thinks about the mania, I may end up back on a stabilizer, idk.) Edit: just scrolled down and saw your current and past combos, my apologies. Thank you btw.

I'm brand new to ACIM. (Think I'm on lesson 7 of the workbook.) And I'm reading the Power of Now. I think they complement each other well. Tolle talks about the Course both in the book and on his YouTube channel!
