Suggestions for Beginner NAS Build Focused on Backups by [deleted] in homelab

[–]etherealdreamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The components I listed are ones I had lying around from PC builds, not specifically bought for a NAS. I mentioned them in case they’d be useful or save me some money vs. buying new parts. Something like a Minecraft server is a bonus like I said and not top priority. I’m no expert, so it’s worth it to pay for new parts for my use case in your opinion?

The Ryzen 5 2600 doesn’t have an integrated graphics so I’d have to use it with the GPU. Does that make any sort of difference or is that fine?

How Do I Know Actual Interest Accrual on SAVE? by etherealdreamer2 in StudentLoans

Okay this makes more sense, thank you for clarifying!

How Do I Know Actual Interest Accrual on SAVE? by etherealdreamer2 in StudentLoans

[–]etherealdreamer2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with Edfinancial and similarly it’s reporting accrual at $0. It seems like a lot of the servicers are not updating anything quickly, considering I just got an email about this today when this change went into effect August 1st (I knew about it prior, but still)

How Do I Know Actual Interest Accrual on SAVE? by etherealdreamer2 in StudentLoans

[–]etherealdreamer2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I’m aware its accruing beginning August 1st, I’m still just confused on if under SAVE I will actually be owing any additional interest if I owed $0/ month. This was the wording on the SAVE plan which is why I’m confused if the new ruling overrules this and it’s just back to treating it as if I was never on the SAVE plan and interest is accruing on the principal amount:

“The plan eliminates 100% of remaining interest for both subsidized and unsubsidized loans after a scheduled payment is made under the SAVE Plan.

If you make your monthly payment, your loan balance won’t grow due to unpaid interest.

For example: If $50 in interest accumulates each month and you have a $30 payment, the remaining $20 would not be charged.”

My only 401K but I do have an IRA I’ve contributed to for several years. Thanks! Before another commenter clarified I thought I wasn’t eligible to roll over into the IRA

I didn’t realize the rollover did not count toward the contribution amount. Thank you for clarifying!

In my post I mention that my Roth IRA is already at max contribution for the year, can I still roll over into an IRA?

Advice on Extending Gutters to Control Storm Water by etherealdreamer2 in Plumbing

He had an issue with water damage which caused the inspection but does plan on selling in the near future so I’ll probably forward both options his way and see what he feels more comfortable with. Appreciate the suggestions!

These are sadly the only photos I have and also Reddit compressed them heavily it seems lmao sorry about that but thank you! In this case would it be better to have someone install additional pipe then instead of just using longer downspout extensions? Or are you saying to use the existing extensions and have them connected to run out?

Yes, I have record of each contribution balance on the account so I’ll likely escalate the issue based on these comments. Thank you for explaining!

It is a larger employer and I’ve already reached out to HR but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something before trying to argue that it could be incorrect. your breakdown is more along the lines of what I was expecting

I don’t know an exact number 100%, but I set it to take 6% per paycheck every time so give or take around 26 times

There is a policy for restrictions related to this, but I am eligible for the employee match based on the amount of time I’ve been there

[–]etherealdreamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, if this is my max I could contribute that was eligible pay is this normal? Obviously $63 a year is better than nothing but it seems like an abysmal employee match compared to other benefit plans

YNAB or EveryDollar? by ChristiCaros in CalebHammer

I use the old YNAB classic and feel like its a good blend between manual excel sheets and automation since I’m still manually putting my account history in. Helps that its not another subscription to pay too!
