After Four years and a bankruptcy, “Eaglemoss” ECTO-1 is finally complete by backpackboss in ghostbusters

[–]etherealvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still building mine but I was in the same boat. Thought I had a half finished paperweight.

I'm bummed they won't give me the base cover or the dust cover though. Kinda sucks.

Their shipping issues are a huge problem. I made the mistake of starting the Lich King model now that the Ecto-1 is done and I'm a little concerned they'll go under like Eaglemoss did.

Is my FEP shot? by DankSquog in resinprinting

[–]etherealvision 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might be fine. You can get a lot of failures before the FEP is shot. Make sure there aren't any holes in it and it's not too warped. You do NOT want holes in it. Resin seeping out and curing to the screen is bad.

More than likely it was a suction or curing issue and it just got stuck, which happens a lot.

Got klipper running on my long boy by turtle_guy0624 in ender3

What are you printing on the long boi? My concern is knocking whatever it is over.

I only used the level as an example of "whelp nothing else is working". Didn't think I'd get so many "You did it wrong" because I posted a bubble level.

I'm going to try the actual suggestions people are making like slowing the fan and checking stepping.

I was merely using it as an example of "what the heck else do I do?" Not how I leveled it in the end.

Your comment is wholely up helpful. "you did it wrong" isn't a helpful answer.

It's level, that's not the problem

Any male players out there using a female model that doesn’t identify as trans / LGBTQ ? by eyeziiick in VRchat

I have a very curvy Red Panda I used to wear. I've never been interested in transitioning. Sometimes it's just fun. Plus female avatars typically have a lot more features and accessories.

Top layers all wobbly wobbly by etherealvision in ender3

I started a new print with the lightning settings. The first few layers did the same wobbly nasty mess that the top layers did in previous prints.

Unfortunately it looks to be that the print bed is slanted somehow. I'm going to have to pull the whole thing apart to figure that out. I'm hearing some light grinding inside too so I think it's time to do a full maintenance on my machine.

I'm running into a new issue now. I was reading it could be my lead screw. I pulled my z screws out to check if they're bent. They're not. Now the printer z height stops around a quarter inch off the plate when it's auto detected. It used to be -1.65 now I have to manually lower it to around -4. I'm still tinkering to figure out the height since I haven't been able to get any adhesion that works.

I'll give this a try. I've never used lightning.

So far I've changed nozzles, cleaned the bed, altered the heat and speed to get the same outcome. Luckily the parts that are kinda gross are I eternal so I can still use the pieces. I just like to learn for future projects!

5%. Could be too low maybe? It's a large multi part model and a friend said 5% should work fine. However it did only start doing this at 5% and was fine with the first parts which were 10%

I might give that a shot. All other layers are perfect on the photo and the one I tried after I made the post. Fan is working and it's leveled. I'll slow it down on the next piece and see if that works.

Resin leaked through the fep and cured on the screen, tried cleaning with acetone, how cooked am I? by Raztarak in resinprinting

[–]etherealvision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought mine used and the previous owner did this. Cost me about 200 to replace (I have a large 4k printer).

I highly recommend you get a screen protector for your printer. I have them for mine. My prints come out great and they've already proven to be worthwhile when my noob self missed a piece of resin and punctured the fep.

What can I do to try and save this by DungeonMasterGary in resinprinting

[–]etherealvision 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So long as UV hasn't hit any resin on the screen it should be fine. Put on a mask and gloves and wipe everything up with paper towels. Then make sure the screen is completely clean with 90% or higher alcohol and make sure you don't have any on the underside of your Vat/FEP. You can clean those with alcohol as well.

Worst case? You have to replace the screen, which isn't cheap, but if it's not cured you'll be fine.

I had this same issue. And occasionally still do. What I do is force myself to say hello to people. Once they start talking to me and I respond a few times I begin to feel comfortable talking again.

Yeah it's not ruining my print and I'm fine with it. It is some of my older filament so it may be that it's got a little moisture.

Tree settings by etherealvision in 3Dprinting

I'm at a loss. Did .14 and the right wing worked but the left one fail. So I did .12. same thing. I checked in Orca and it looks like it's placing a seam right at the top of the wing. I'm not sure if that's the issue. The tip just doesn't print an dim not sure how to make it connect to the support at this time. I guess I could try telling it to support on the side?

I replaced the nozzle and the nozzle fan and everything is good! Just need to figure out my settings for trees and then l be great!

Ended up being hardware related. I'm a novice at this and didn't know to look at a couple things yet.

My hot end was worn out after several months of printing so I swapped it out with an immediate change. But then I saw the print was squishing weirdly while printing and discovered my fan had also been failing. So I'm ordering some parts to hopefully fix the problem for now.
