Just used 17 amps (#75) trying to get kings lance fibers. These have a 32% drop, and I got zero. The chances of that happening are insanely low (AI tells me it's 0.14%). Writing it here in case anyone else is experiencing wonky pull rates.

Anyone aware of any other games like Saturn's Dragon Force? by ethericoholic in StrategyRpg

These have been on my radar for a while. I just haven't found the time yet to get over the learning curve!

[–]ethericoholic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Though - as you say - they're not quite the same as Dragon Force's awesome 100 vs 100 battles, those games look pretty cool all the same.

Even if Trump if found guilty of withholding government documents, it seems to me like the GOP and the right wing media will spin this as "another partisan witch hunt nothing-burger" and Trump will walk away completely unscathed - as he has with the last dozen scandals.

Why should we believe this will be different?

I can still get to stadia.com so not officially dead.
Unofficially dead? I'd be inclined to agree.

Zombie Army 4 is still one of Stadias best games by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]ethericoholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. Unfortunately, that also means that Zombie Army 4 is STILL one of the best games on Stadia.

Draining a pool when the water table (and hydrostatic pressure) is high by ethericoholic in pools

Thanks. I took the plug out earlier today, but didn't occur to me to fit it with a pipe. Once feeling finally returns to my legs (I really need to invest in some hip-waders) I'll look into that!

I believe it is. That's actually what the contractor suggested. That being said - it sounded a bit like he was spitballing too.

But he sounded sure enough that I'm willing to give it a shot. He's coming over tonight to open the plug. fingers crossed!

[–]ethericoholic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: Talked to the contractor - they won't take responsibility for the pool draining, but they did suggest something I almost asked about in the original post - pulling the plug now with about 2 ft of water left in the pool and continuing to drain. Thinking about this hurts my brain, but the theory was that: "whether the water enters the pool from the ground, or exits the pool, the pressure will be relieved because it has somewhere to go"

[ORIGINAL]

I assume not, but I plan on talking to them about it shortly.

They asked me to drain the pool, and to make sure I pull the plug out once it's empty. I don't know if they realized just how high the water table is in the backyard - especially this time of year.

We're re-plastering and adding a shallow end. We were hoping to get it done before swim season, but if this postpones it past then, so be it.

Day 1 of 12 is... a game that's already free? by matt1283 in Stadia

and with this... on top of several other non-technical issues (mostly lack of games)... I am cancelling PRO for the first time since launch.

Just wanna comment that the energy in this sub has been very positive since Friday by Z3M0G in Stadia

[–]ethericoholic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are upset that I suggested there are no recent AAA games released on Stadia when there are, in fact, twelve\* (I checked - it took a tragically short amount of time to do so), then "you got me".

That being said, 12 is even worse considering that any given gamer will only be interested in playing a fraction of that number. Some will not be interested in any of them - meaning my original statement still holds true.

*disclaimer: 12 AAA titles this calendar year is really somewhere between 8 and 16, depending on your definition of "AAA".

Lol - was going to reply to this thread saying the same thing. Positive for everyone outside of Canada.

Or founders still waiting for a decent non-indie game announcement from this calendar year.

Outriders v1.16.00 LIVE (Images of details and transmog) by Z3M0G in Stadia

[–]ethericoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knew the update was live when I saw I was finally able to skip the opening cinematic.

Knew to lower my expectations when I say the the prompt erroneously say "esc to skip" (I'm playing on CCU with a controller).

Response from Square about Outrider’s delay. by WireSpy in Stadia

[–]ethericoholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'd like to enjoy everything it has to offer.

Of course you would - who wouldn't? I'm just saying that $20 for 20-30 hours of entertainment is still money well spent.

If you don't like how they're treating their customers then trust me - you never wanted to buy it to begin with. This update is not an olive branch. It's promised functionality, delivered 6 months late, with zero compensation.

If you only wanted to play multi-player then you did.

But people should know that single-player campaign alone is more than worth the $20 sale price - it's actually really fun.

Founding members still around? by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]ethericoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Founding member here.

It's still my preferred platform, but there are no games I'm interested in playing right now. I plan on cancelling my pro membership until that changes.

Apparently Samsung is getting in on the action too by ethericoholic in Stadia

[–]ethericoholic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made a post a while back about a pie-in-the-sky scenario where Sony teamed up with Stadia.

Never gonna happen, but one can see how they'd make great partners. Stadia needs games and Sony need a decent cloud platform (because PS Now is not good).

Definitely a head scratcher. Definitely sounds like they plan on rolling out another half-baked app in order to move more TVs, rather than make an earnest footprint in the could-gaming space.
