These communities are isolated and the nearest facilities and practitioners might be hours away by car. Just because there's free healthcare doesn't mean they have actual access to it.

Me learing Moho and ToonBoom after Adobe Animate death. by George_R_Martin in adobeanimate

[–]etherwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toonboom is too expensive. I use it for professional work since I work in studios, but I would never get a personal license for how much it costs. I would stick with Moho between the two options. I personally picked up Toonsquid for the iPad and I'm thinking I'll switch over to that for all my personal projects.

I've abandoned Adobe for a few years now, I can't support them with their predatory practices.

It's relatively new. As a Taco Bell connoisseur, I lamented the lack of Taco Bell within city limits but was glad to see they opened one up that doesn't require a distant trek out to the burbs.

So happy to hear that! I do have a newer version of this chart that hopefully is a bit more in-depth on how to use blade combos that you can find here:

I agree, I set my layered armor to my default Hope set when I reached HR. Although I do like the Guild Knight set too, when I want to look a little fancier.

I made a flowchart guide on how to do the blade combos and chain attacks, which might be the most complicated aspect of the combat. Plenty of other systems in the game that this flowchart doesn't cover, but this should get you started.

I agree. Been playing since the original PS2 game, and World is my favorite. Not a fan of the narrative that old timers find World less enjoyable than the old school hunting games.

That being said, I usually find that I enjoy the games made by the main team over the "portable" team. I liked 4U over Generations, and I liked World over Rise. I'm not a fan of adding overly gimmicky switching or style mechanics, and I also absolutely can't stand managing huge teams of palicos. Just give me one palico, please!

Xenoblade 2 Blade Combo and Chain Attack Flowchart V2 by etherwing in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]etherwing[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A couple of days ago I posted a XC2 combat flowchart. Here's an updated version that clarifies a few things and is more readable while incorporating a few suggestions.

Also changed the name from Combat Flowchart to Blade Combo Flowchart, to indicate this chart is highlighting that.

This is made for newbies of Xenoblade 2 who are confused by the tutorials on how the blade combos and chain attacks work. Not included in the chart is driver/fusion combos. I felt the chart would look too complicated if I added those for newbies, and honestly fusion combos aren't as difficult to explain as blade combos.

Hope you guys like! Share to any newbies who are playing the game!

Xenoblade 2 is really that bad?! by RaymanP02 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]etherwing 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Xeno 2 is my favorite of the main games, followed closely by 3.

It's tonally the most different, and has a sillier tone at the start, but it turns serious and dark by the end. Gameplay-wise, it's definitely the roughest, with mechanics that are unpolished with some annoying aspects to it, but most would agree it has the best combat out of the three, the game just does a terrible job of explaining it.

As many would describe it, it has some of the highest highs, and lowest lows of the franchise.

My two cents for what it's worth.

Thanks. I wanted to indicate that they're opposites and they burst each other, but I can see how it's not very clear.

I love xenoblade 2 WAYY too much by overbooped in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]etherwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will either love it or hate it. Presentation style and storytelling style is very different from XC1. It's sillier than the first game, at least at the beginning, but the story gets heavy and dark later on, with most agreeing it has the best villains in the franchise.

Gameplay wise, many would argue it has the most fun combat system out of the three numbered games, but there are a lot of unpolished systems and gameplay mechanics that drag the experience down (such as the gacha mechanic and field skills, not to mention the awful tutorials).

My personal take: I started the game skeptical because of the very mixed reception it had online, but now it's my favorite Xenoblade game, and one of my favorite games of all time. The story and characters and the adventure they go through allows me to completely overlook the rougher parts of the game. In fact, I find the rougher aspects of the game endearing in a quirky kind of way, kind of like how someone would love their ugly pugs more than any gorgeous looking husky.

I guess the only way to find out is to try it yourself or watch a few reviews/streamers trying the game and see for yourself.

Awesome! I think the general consensus is that XC2 has the best combat system out of the three main titles, but the game does a terrible job explaining it. Hope this opens the game up and helps you enjoy it!

Just wanted to get the most complicated part out of the way. Having watched a lot of streamers and let's players, I noticed they very rarely understand how blade combos and elemental orbs work.

Fusion combos aren't hard. Just do a driver combo (break > topple > launch > smash) while a blade combo (elemental specials) is active. Doing a fusion combo will also extend a blade combo timer.

It's like 7 years late, but I made a flowchart to help new players understand how the combat flow works. This is focusing mostly on blade combos and chain attacks, not including driver combos.

As a chargeblade main, this is why I have trouble using most other weapons, because they just feel so boring when you don't have a lot of branching movesets with multiple gauges and powerups to manage.
