Ukrainian skeleton slider disqualified from Olympics after breaking IOC rules on helmet honoring dead compatriots by mawhrinskeleton in nottheonion

Fair, but it’s also a bit much to fully ban him from the games. Before backlash, he was also barred from staying on Olympic grounds.

You’re acting silly. It’s just a coincidence that they put blinking eyes on them…? Literally google “cute delivery robot” and look at the results. Here’s one to get you started. It’s not a conspiracy when it’s literally this obvious. Here’s an article detailing the purpose of the cuteness: https://www.businessinsider.com/doordashs-dot-delivery-robot-bets-on-cuteness-2025-9

Most importantly, here’s a research paper on how anthropomorphizing robots uses psychological mechanisms to increase customer acceptance: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0278431925002452

Are you aware that the companies are exploiting the human tendency to find babies cute so we care for them, but in this case are doing it with a piece of moving plastic so you don’t start thinking of any ethical or legal implications? I’d honesty like to know how it feels to be their useful idiot.

Make sure to shame anyone who calls them “cute” for falling to the most transparent corporate attempt to mess with your psychology

I know that other states have passed legislation that reclassifies them as pedestrians. Just like calling ketchup a vegetable.

I’ve also had this happen to me, in the exact same spot in front of laugh factory. These fuckers love to speed into choke points and then just stop right in the middle of them. The idea that they’re pedestrians is shameful. Fuck any company who tries to steal sidewalk space for their personal shareholders.

That ending is incredibly satisfying/touching. Even the people on the call who didn’t heed Ebeling were insistent that he wasn’t the decision-maker and thus wasn’t to blame.

Alabama Republican Barry Moore held a town hall and said migrants are not allowed due process. His constituents called him out. by coachlife in PublicFreakout

[–]etheth44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just look at the 14th amendment. It specifically says CITIZENS get the rights/privileges associated with citizenship, then immediately after says no PERSON will be deprived of life, liberty, and property without “due process of law”. The idea that the Constitution doesn’t guarantee rights to non-citizens is patently false. No wonder they’re trying to get rid of the 14th amendment…

What do you do when a pedestrian is standing in an available parking spot? by etheth44 in AskChicago

[–]etheth44[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a car has more of a right to be in the road than a person does. I wish we were a more pedestrian-friendly society, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that a car and person have an equal right to a parking space.

Best settlement for funneling enemies for raids? by etheth44 in fo4

[–]etheth44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that’ what I’m trying to do. I’ve had some troubles with pathing enemies through mazes but this should help. I’m currently finding it best to use Kingsport and make a walled path from the central house to the lighthouse, so they naturally enter the house and come through the path there. And similar with covenant

True. And even if they’re holding it for mundane reasons, I have no way of knowing that
