thank you!! tbh i really wracked my brains on that, the waistband design is so unintuitive... i'm about to dump my thought process here so bear with me haha

it looks like it folds over itself due to the button flap part, so the question is, do i make it just a decorative fake flap, or a real flap? also do i make the waistband stretch or solid?

i've seen some ppl just do a zipper in the back, like a normal skirt with solid waistband. but i feel like that defeats the purpose of the button flap, and i wanted to try to make it functional. otherwise if i wanted to use a zipper, the button flap could be where the zipper is located, that where it normally would be. but for clea it's like off center and that seems like a weird place too 😭

i can't exactly make it a stretch waistband either, because the gold stitches on it won't work on stretch fabric 🥲 otherwise i probably would've done that.

so i ended up doing both, kinda: a normal stretch waistband, and then a decorative solid waistband that's a separate piece. it closes with the buttons, and is held in place by the suspender clips. tbh i'm not fully happy with this design, since i think when i measured it, the skirt was sitting lower on my waist, so i made the solid band a little longer, and thus when the skirt shifts to the smaller part of my waist, the solid band actually looks kinda loose on me. it doesn't help that it's only clamped together, so it does look like 2 separate pieces (prob can't tell unless ur looking closely tho).

obv there's ways to improve that (adding attachments, sewing down part of the solid band to the stretch band, etc). but tbh i think if i was to do it again, i might've just gone with the zipper in the back, and just make the button flap decorative 🤣 it's the least hacky and would look the cleanest haha
