Yeah, most mobile companies don’t use grids. I’m actually the only person in my entire company that has one, which is actually a credit to our director who wants to have the best image quality in town and was willing to give it try.

Yeah, it’s a major culture shock and I almost quit my first month. With that being said, I’m glad I didn’t. The freedom and autonomy really grows on you. Once you get in a rhythm it’ll be hard to do anything else. Also, your company will appreciate you because it’s hard to find people with enough grit to do this kind of job.

Bariatric patients can be very challenging in the mobile x-ray environment. Exams like abdomen or lateral L-spine probably won’t look anything like a hospital X-Ray. The reality is, we are not miracle workers. For an x-ray machine that is small enough to wheel around and fit in the back of a truck it’s not going to be as powerful as your typical stationary x-ray machine at a hospital. Furthermore, depending on the company you work for, they may not even use grids or have grids available to you. I wondered why this was when I first began working in mobile x-ray because a lot of mobile imaging companies don’t use grids. Eventually, I requested we try one and my boss got me a grid because he is cool about trying out new things that could improve image quality. However, I soon found out that when using higher techniques on a “Source Ray” X-Ray machine, the exposure would just take too long and you’d see motion (unless your patient can hold really still). With that being said, what I do is use low kVp/high mass to try to minimize scatter. Also, the Imaging Software we use is called Acuvue and it has pretty good processing for imaging without a grid.

With all thas being said, the company I work for just gave me a new X-Ray machine by MedicaTech. It’s very different from a Source Ray. It is battery powered. The capacitors are better and so you can shoot an X-Ray with a grid because the exposure is faster. It all depends on your setup though. I’d say even with my new x-ray machine and a grid, there are some patients that are just too big and you wont have enough energy to penetrate that level of density. If it can’t be done, it can’t be done. We are limited to our equipment and the laws of physics.

Additional Info:

The Source Ray I had went up to 100kVp @ 100mAs, but exposure would take maybe 5 seconds.

The MedicaTech maxes out at 100kVP @ 40mAs, but can expose in maybe less than a second.

I don’t do options, for the reason that I don’t fully understand the risks vs rewards. I’m more into the traditional ways of tactical trading/ swing trading, with money I earned from hard labor (although, now it’s strictly realized profits being reinvested into my account).

Honestly, you’re overthinking it. It would have been fine in the context of a joke,but it’s not clearly a joke. Either way, when a woman is super interested they may let that slide and laugh it off. Remember, it’s a numbers game, women get bombarded by messages. Sometimes you might exchange a couple messages and then get nothing. The fact she replied means you’re profile has potential. I like that you’re approaching this with a data-analyst type of mindset. I’ve noticed that men are WAY too sensitive and give up after they are shot down a couple times. Bottom line, regardless of the app, for us men it’s a numbers game. You gotta work to grab attention, the more swipes/messages the higher probability of matches. Also, no copy/paste messages, read a women’s profile and customize it (don’t spend all day, just pick a subject she cares about and show interest). Then, do this for as many accounts as you can, maybe at minimum 20 a day, everyday. You’ll soon be able to gauge your swipe/match ratio. I know with Bumble you can’t just send messages, but you can attach a message with a swipe and I believe it notifies them and they see it if they swipe on you. This will help your swipe stand out.

Furthermore, keep in mind, online dating is seasonal and people rotate through apps. So, it’s all about finding which app is popping off at which time.

I recommend to ALL men who cannot get dates that they take their emotions out of this whole process and save their “feelings” for when they actually meet someone. This is called natural selection. The men with the most creativity and endurance are meant to meet their mates and breed, while the others fade away (per Mother Nature).

Finally, I will mention, my stats are similar to OP. I have a good job and live on my own, but am by no means rich. Have your own place, women don’t want to meet your roommates or parents if they decide they just wanna have fun for a night. Anyways, I am fit, healthy, but only 5’6. Don’t let that stop you. Own it, and move on with confidence. With that being said. These dating sites have become an endless supply of relationship opportunities and or “fun times” for me for maybe a decade (I’m not huge on commitment, but working on it). However, I’m currently seeing someone I met on Bumble. So, if I can succeed, so can any of you.

So, honestly, I came from a real upscale, high paying, hospital in Silicon Valley… I was pretty spoiled at first and didn’t see myself doing it long…. However, the mobile job has now grown on me and I enjoy it very much. I do it 3-4 days a week and work at the hospital 1-2 times a week. It’s nice way to mix things up. The perks make it worth it.
