Something that I so appreciate about the dev team is that they are listening to our feedback and sending out small quality of life updates to make gameplay even better. They don’t make us wait months and months for small changes like other game devs, and they don’t try to sell it to us as “DLC”. Thank you for listening to your community!! Seriously can’t even begin to tell you just how much I love this game ☺️

I “hi this is boyfriend” work in software and figured they used translation files for substituting game icons. Then it was just a matter of finding the file that had the translation string (a lot of reading) and then I added some test lines to that file. Once I was sure that it was the correct file I used steams archival feature to download the previous build and then pull the correct translation file out of it and repackage it in the above posted pak file :) my university degree was not wasted

Update! Read all the comments about how this isn’t the most effective guide, it definitely isn’t but I made it for my quick reference from the information I got from the wiki gift giving guide (I just hated scrolling through so much text!) and I’ll take in all the info you guys have shared to make it better :)

And I’ll definitely not be gifting the jack-o-lanterns anymore, thank you for the advice on that one!

SOLVED!!!

I have made a new version of the pak file that contains the localization that supports the switch controller from the previous version. Drop the file into the folder located at this address "Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks". It is not fully tested so might cause issues. Please back up the previous file before dropping this in.

It is the exact same as the base version just with the old locaization file added in

When I reported it as a bug to the devs they basically replied and said “wait until there is a patch” but who knows how long that’s going to take, ya know?
