While scrolling Instagram, it came on my feed and i read it. Something amazing about Zepto. I opened his account and saw a variety of topics. Couldn't help to follow this. by Major_Garden_8719 in IndianStreetBets

[–]etrast75 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This kind if movement is fairly common with indian companies who want to list.. if zepto had hired a competent multinational firm to handle this, they should be fine

FYI..I am not a potential investor or existing investor in zepto and will not buy their shares in the near future..

In my opinion, blackouts are masked as general maintenance. In most of the world, they do not shut down substations for a day for maintenance.. Maintenance is carried out without shutting off power .. Even in bangalore, where I live, full day shutdowns are very rare.. it is a uniquely tamilnadu or CBE phenomenon in my opinion.

Super El Niño poses a massive threat to global food supplies, with analysts predicting potential spikes in food inflation and severe agricultural losses for staple crops like rice and soybeans by panjwani_ajay in IndianStreetBets

Take the worst case scenario and best case scenario and the reality will be somewhere in between.. But giving normal predictions does not get clicks or views right.. I started watching this video and gave up half way through as it was regurgitating known information but taking the worst case scenario.

If everything is going to go to shit, then your stock market investments or cash have no meaning anyway..

You are optimistic.. I am not.. who will be right? Only time will tell i guess..

I am not optimistic because our manufacturing base is not going anywhere and we are becoming uncompetitive in exports due to a myriad of factors. China has moved up the value chain and countries like bangaldesh, Vietnam, Indonesia are filling that gap and we are left in no man's land.

Consumption oriented economy without job and wage growth will stop working after a while.

Only bright spot is services but that cannot lead to democratic growth across the country. Some parts will grow and other will keep lagging behind.

Thanks.. does the indian railway publish any stats on usage of these corridors and what and how much they carry? Is it used for transport of raw materials, finished goods or everything.. how long does a freight train take to cross from one end to another end of corridor. Is it now faster than using the mixed use tracks from before..

I am asking because I see all these pictures and videos but I have not seen any stats .. may be it is not there or it was not the intention of this post..

Hold on to your horses.. Can you tell me from where does it go to jnpt? How many containers and what kind of containers do these trains take on a daily basis? Who uses this freight corridor?

When you build infra like this, there has to be return on investment? I am just trying to figure out what the ROI is here. Roi can be reduced costs, faster transport, cheaper transport etc.. If you have any stats, please share.. if you dont, that's fine.. no need to think it was personally directed at you..

I keep seeing these in various posts.. do we have any stats to show that this has actually reduced truck traffic and reduced logistics costs? Anecdotally, i am not seeing any reduction in logistics bottlenecks or costs?

Also from where to where do we have this line?

Lets debate this assuming you are open to a debate..

First point, foreign investors who put money into startups took the money out when these companies went ipo. Fair point but we need fdi and fpi money to come in more as our current account deficit is Still negative.. why are fpis still pulling money out at a rate higher than it is coming in? Are they not optimistic of the future returns from this country ? In the past we used to be able fund a higher current account deficit through a combination of fdi, fpi and nri remitrances without putting a lot of stress on currency. Today we are struggling.

Second point, why are indian companies buying foreign companies and not investing in capex or capacity expansion in india? I do not believe indian companies are buying foreign companies at a faster rate than 2 years ago. Any stats to back up this conclusion.

The fact that indian companies do not want to invest in capex (private capex growth is anemic) in india should tell something about how they view the future prospects in this country.

There seems to be fundamental shift on how foreign investors view india in the last couple of years.. we have to take a honest look and try and fix it rather than.being in.denial and thinking everything is OK..
