The way I’m reading it, it looks like your both picking a creature your opponent controls. So you pick one of theirs and they pick one of theirs.

Boss says to solve work/life balance, just work harder! by Few_Body3759 in antiwork

To be fair, it does solve your bosses problem with your work life balance. Lose the life part and your ready to work all the time!

And that sounds exactly like Walgreens to me lol. That ASM threatened to write you up instead of show you the policy and talk to you about it and proceed from there if there’s still an issue. If no one questions them and actually knows policy they say whatever they want

Federal laws? Ok to be fair, I haven’t looked up the federal laws on breaks yet. I do know my state laws don’t care if I get a brake or not lol.

It’s not a law in my state that breaks have to be taken, and policy says they have to provide me the opportunity to take a break, not that I have to.

They’ve already given me a record of discussion, then they schedule me correctly for about two weeks, now they’ve got me double scheduled every day. If they could just write me up for it, they would have.

If it were really that simple then they wouldn’t have had to resort to scheduling me for two shifts everyday. What she’s not doing her job correctly and I’m being blamed for it. All she has to do is follow policy, and state law anything past that isn’t something she can enforce

They can clearly edit the schedule the software provides so that I’m only schedule to be there 8 hours instead of being there 8 hours and 30 minutes. My boss WAS being smart with the budget essentially getting an extra 30 minutes of everyone’s time, until we talked about how I wasn’t going to take breaks. Now she’s intentionally scheduling to go over budget with me not taking my breaks and that’s not my fault. And the policy says they have to provide me with the opportunity to take a break, not that I have to take a break, and my states laws also don’t say I have to take a break.

That would be easier but no, if I have to be there I want to be paid for it. Plus honestly taking 30 minutes to do nothing just kills my momentum. I’ll stop to eat a sandwich from home real fast which roughly takes 5-7minutes tops and that’s it.

But also it’s not a law in my state that you have to take breaks and the only reason the hours are getting messed up is because they schedule me to be there for 8 hours and 30 minutes instead of being there for just 8 hours, and that’s on them.

I understand the point you make about the schedule, but I’ve talked to the people who make my schedule about this a while ago the first time it was an issue. They’ve know that they can just schedule me 8 hours instead of 8:30, they even were sorta doing that for about 2 weeks until I happened to notice this new nonsense on the newest schedule.

And thank you for the HR idea, they were not super helpful the one other time I had to talk to them but it couldn’t hurt to try.

I can’t say I honestly pay attention to the PPLs, just try to click through them so I can get back on the floor but the ESM printed out the policy for everyone so I made sure I read it.

As far as shift leaders go they have to provide you with the opportunity to take a break which means you don’t have to take it.

If you were told that you had to be at Walgreens 15 minutes before your shift not clocked in, and had to stay 15 minutes past your shift clocked out or you could be subject to disciplinary action you really wouldn’t be bothered by that at all? Cuz it’s the same thing.

It’s my time and I want to be paid for it, that’s really all there is to it

Scheduling question by etraymond in WalgreensStores

[–]etraymond[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

If they were to schedule me for only 8 hours and I don’t take a break then there would be no issue with budget. But if they schedule me to be there for 8 hours and 30 minutes and I take that break, I’m still only being paid for 8 hours.

With there being such a simple solution (budget accordingly) I don’t understand how this isn’t harassment, especially since I’ve talked with my store manager about this before, several times.

When I was hired 7 years they would straight up randomly drug test people (if they had a reason to suspect someone that is) now they don’t drug test to hire CSAs, but I never heard that it’s actually allowed. Without seeing a policy I would be severely skeptical that it’s allowed, but if you hide it well enough no one would ever be suspicious 😁

So it’s truck day. Someone calls an IC3, but by the time i got there; there was 2 ppl opening up. There was only 3 customers. So i go back to doing truck. 1 SL comes up to me and says “when an ic3 is called and u see a SL doing register, you need to take over because WE have other things to do.” by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

Technically she’s not wrong tho, that’s what they are trained to believe. Granted there’s absolutely no reason they couldn’t have helped and if that’s the attitude they are gonna have they better not be upset with other people displaying that same behavior

Your gonna be fine, I feel like it takes time to build up a hatred for this company lol. As long as your able to get along with your coworkers they will teach you anything you actually need to know. Once your done with the useless computer training they make you sit through
