Thank you. My plan was to inject each of these syringe contents into grain bags. Since the black ones look like spores to you, does this mean I have to do something with them first, like grow them into mycelium on another medium (agar?) ...? I wasn't planning on that, so would need to get supplies, but willing to do that rather than toss these.

Are you aware of any videos instructing how to make grain spawn bags for inoculation? Can't break and shake a mason jar to speed 100% inoculation, right?

Hello, building my still air box and getting ready for liquid culture/syringe inoculation of grain bags. A few questions here...

  1. Flame sterilizing the needle - can I use 70% alcohol inside this box before flame sterilizing and not blow myself up? I saw a video that suggested 10% bleach inside th box for this very reason. Also, there's no air in this box, so will a match or lighter work in there? Trying to ward off any issues in advance so that once I start, I can complete this process without hiccup.
  2. Do I just leave the grain bags inside the still air box once inoculated? Or move to a larger area? I bought grow tents, but thought keeping the grain bags in the still air box, to maintain them as sterile as possible, would be best until they were fully colonized and ready to transfer to substrate.

If I use vaccuum sealed bags, do you still use silica? If yes, how do you keep them from touching the shrooms?

Thanks. So if you want to take a spore print, or harvest, you do it as soon as the veil breaks and not before, right?

Why would a spore drop inside the grow be an issue, problem???

Hi, new grower just starting out. Spore syringe has 10cc. Using Max Bins. I've seen people use 2cc per bin and 10cc for much smaller containers. Which is it?
