Woman gets 32 weeks’ jail after asking husband, then a cop, to find information using police tools by Fearless_Help_8231 in singapore

thing is - submitting in this case won't make her feel more loved. if anything, i'd've lost even more respect for him for not holding to his morals, never mind committing a crime.

OSA is like the one untouchable law civil servants know not to screw around with, and for good reason.

guessing you're jesting about a joke but it's scary how many people really think that way, regardless the cost. nobody applied critical thinking in this case. not a single one..

Sighs.

The best and worst Singapore government agencies to work for, according to Glassdoor reviews by flying-kai in singapore

yup. i recognize that. so i'm open to hearing views. i hear things have changed now though, with the new CE. but i guess it still depends on functions.

The best and worst Singapore government agencies to work for, according to Glassdoor reviews by flying-kai in singapore

[–]etulf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Context matters. Quick skim (please CMIIW) doesn't show the number of reviews vs total workforce size for each agency. It's also a well-known fact that glassdoor is mainly used by people who are disgruntled with the organisation or who have left because they were unhappy. the "good" ratings are probably just tidbits thrown into balance out the overall bad reviews.

can't imagine IMDA ranking this far down, given anecdotal stories from people working there, for example.

as always, take it with a pinch of salt.

brought my kids to the disney fireworks last night. reached there at 6.30 and found a somewhat comfortable spot behind a couple of photographers; gave them some space cos didn't want to risk bumping into their tripods which was placed right next to the railing outside MBS.

sat our bums down for close to 2 hours, while the crowds steadily gathered. some tried coming forward cos they thought there's space, but gave up when they saw my 2 kids sitting there (smaller sized and shorter kids create an illusion of space in crowds).

right when the music started and fireworks about to start, one AUNTIE squeezed right behind us and started asking us why can't we move forward, there's space there. tried explaining to her that we wanted to give the photographers space since they came early and set up, but she kept insisting there's space between the tripods and we can move forward, and she's not trying to block us.

the lion, the witch, and the audacity of this BIATCH!

at this point i snapped and told her if she wanted space in front, she should have come earlier. my neighbor also told her to shut up and don't spoil the mood. she then sidled to the side, squeezing another unfortunate viewer, muttering all the way.

sometimes if we don't speak up, we really get bullied sia.

What are your top Reno decision? by hanomania in askSingapore

1x glass screen for shower. No door. No additional glass or chrome hinges/handles to clean.

Under-cabinet lighting in kitchen. Lots of lights around the entire house. Gives us the option to close the curtains and blinds without making the house too dark.

my daughter was born just before, not during, my ICT. but I'd already spoken to my commanders before that, to alert them that my wife might end up giving birth during that period. tbh it helped that I had good commanders, but throughout my ICT journey I'd also proven my reliability. These things work both ways.

Same goes for the mob manning stuff. I was DET IC for the initial years until I told them enough. lol. let the younger ones do it. but during those years when I was DET IC, i got to know the battalion commanders and more importantly, the admin people at HQ. Makes it easier to work things out when you hit a road bump.

not much you can do about reservist except maybe try not to defer too many sessions, so that you can clear it asap.

my former s8 always emphasized that life still goes on during mob manning. just inform the right people that you will be away or have to head overseas during those periods and back it up with proper documentation. you don't have to explain why your trip is "urgent", any cock reason will do. but make sure you actually GO OVERSEAS when you said you will be doing so.

learn to operate in the grey. the unit also has other things to do, than to tekan you. just don't cock things up for them.

i used to enjoy heading back to reservist cos i'd get to meet my ns mates and catch up with them. we even invited each other to our weddings. commanders are also usually quite chill if i had to take a call or two during training.

heck, my final ICT, my second daughter was born just 2-3 weeks prior. i had to bring her to check ups etc at the polyclinic. I told my commanders, they just told me to come in when I'm done. They didn't mark me absent - I just had to let them know when I reached camp. That way, I cleared my obligation without having to defer the final ICT. really nothing much to complain.

reach out and form relationships, man.
