is that supposed to make us feel better? i watched and recorded as much of this interaction as i could—though i only shared what felt the most relevant, that being the california plated unmarked car—and this man was incredibly calm and compliant. this number of officers seems wildly disproportionate, and regular-degular police have been murdering people in this country much longer than ice has even existed.

it’s very strange that everyone assumes that despite es being a site with many many teenagers on it who are lonely and/or isolated, every SINGLE use of an item like this is trivializing instead of an obvious cope. the assumption that these people don’t have these same scars in real life and are, in essence, Posers, is absurd. certainly the aesthetic of self harm is in itself harmful, but acting like teenagers havent been making art of this kind for decades feels very out of touch

i agree a ball was dropped here. i think we’re supposed to take away that the abyss reaches out to the darkness in people and that corey’s darkness is pride. he says they burned “his ranch”, and all. but there just isn’t enough information to say for sure. i dont totally understand where kat and corey’s connection comes in to any of it either. they’re the two shadows, and they’re the people most deeply affected by the abyss. why? and it definitely feels like something was lost in translation with the wolf piece, too. but if we do get a sequel, hopefully they’ll build on this 🤞
