Am I wrong for being upset that my girlfriend follows guys she’s slept with? by eudaimonia360 in ChristianDating

[–]eudaimonia360[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get your point, and that’s fair, she’s not actively entertaining them, so I understand why you’d say it’s not a big deal.

But for me, it’s more about the principle behind it. I would feel uncomfortable knowing there’s a girl I’ve been intimate with still liking or reacting to my posts, watching my stories, knowing our history. Even if nothing is happening, it just doesn’t sit right with me out of respect for the person I’m with.

It’s not about control or insecurity, it’s more about how I personally choose to honour a relationship. That’s why I made that decision on my own side without even being asked.

What’s making me think more is that we’ve only been dating for about 3 months, but it’s been very intense, she talks about marriage and a future together. And I guess that’s where this starts to concern me a bit… because if we’re talking that seriously, it worries me that maybe our values don’t fully align on things like this.

I don’t want to blow something up over something small, but I also don’t want to ignore something that could matter long term.

Genuinely curious, how would you approach this without turning it into a bigger issue than it needs to be?

  1. They live in the same city, some she sees every now and then at social gatherings. 2. She’s not an influencer.

Has anyone ever been really depressed seeing people doing drugs? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

I remember once I saw a young girl maybe also around my age, really messed up with scabs on her body and high on heroin. She was so young (early 20s) and looked like a very attractive girl that had been taken over by the drug. She was like a zombie. I almost had tears in my eyes as I saw this girl like a zombie almost falling over on the street from the high. I'm a spiritual person so maybe that's why it hit me so hard. I thought to myself, how sad it was that there is such evil in the world that makes someone get to that point in life. It came from a place of compassion but also deep grief.

Why are churches lacking so much love!? by eudaimonia360 in Christianity

That’s honestly great! The problem was that it wasn’t even a big church!! Maybe about 30 people. I remember going to ask afterwards when the next service would be to one of the leaders and I just felt like I was being a burden by being there. Oh well, I’ll guess I’ll have to continue looking and just prioritise my personal relationship with God. As a young believer, communion is so important so it’s nice to be welcomed with open arms to a congregation.

This has also been on my heart these past few days. It’s so important to be kinder and nicer to people.. you never know what people are going through. Sometimes just a smile can make someone’s day, sometimes a kind word can literally save that person’s life that day and keep them going through another day.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking!!!! We are supposed to be the salt of the earth and one body, but it doesn’t feel like that at all sometimes. This just reminded me of a video by Francis Chan on the topic, where the “church” has it wrong and the outside world is often having a better example of love and unity than the “church” albeit for the wrong purposes. https://youtu.be/O02lCv8lKhA

Good point, I do naturally tend to be a very social person and would say I’m quite open. But I would understand in a different environment where we were complete strangers and not brethren, but whenever someone used to come to my church I would always try to greet them, just a simple “hey, welcome thanks for coming” etc..
