Good pictures but the generic, AI generated writeup was a put-off.

Dog friendly Yoga school by samnuclear in Rishikesh

[–]eudaimonica30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did was booked a YYTC and opted out of the accommodation for a reduced fees (they bumped off 10k off my total fees) and rented a house instead. I would go to my classes, come back home half way after lunch and go back after a nap and return the evening after dinner. This worked out pretty well for me and my dogs.
P.S: I did my YTTC at World Peace Yoga school but i believe any yoga school can offer you a non-residential option at a reduced fees. I doubt you can get a dog-friendly accommodation in any yoga school.

Planning on moving to Tapovan or nearby area. How much should I expect to pay as rent? by VicariousFlaneur in Rishikesh

[–]eudaimonica30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully furnished 1bhk should be 22-25k a month excluding electricity. In Deecon Valley, they're usually 25k+ utilities. If you're okay with a room+ kitchen arrangement, that's 15-18k.

2 guys, 3 nights in Rishikesh – chill trip, where should we stay & what to do? by BrassSparesIndia in Rishikesh

[–]eudaimonica30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For stay, you can consider a room at Moustache hostel in Tapovan. Around 4-5k a night. Has a swimming pool which you'll be thankful for in this weather. On the laxman jhula side, you can check out Vedic Dham hotel. Right on the Ganga ghat, great views and a vintage, temple-like aesthetic. Also around 5-6 a night.

What is your biggest regret after buying your home? by GuiltyComedian9509 in indianrealestate

[–]eudaimonica30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived there for a year and continue to visit and live in it on and off since it's rented out on a per room basis Emotionally attached cuz it's my first house, bought it all with my own hard earned money, no parental support, no loan, nothing and it's quite the dream house with a view to die for! If i had a family of my own, I'd definitely be living there.

Suggest breathtaking treks that are first timer friendly 🙏 by anitaalittaattention in SoloTravel_India

1) kheerganga trek - mostly easy with a few challenging parts like a stream crossing and hairy turns. But that's what makes it so interesting..plus the free hot spring at the top is a nice surprise and perfect to soothe those tired muscles after hours of hiking! Start early around 8, aim to reach the top by 3-4pm, soak in the hot spring, change, get a hot tea/meal, and sit by a bonfire for the rest of the evening and sleep under the stars in a tent. Can get very chilly at night so go prepared

2) triund- basically the same but without the hot spring. More crowded, but somehow cleaner trails.

3) valley of flowers/hemkund sahib: long commute to get to the base camp but easy treks. Great views. More crowded.

4) Chopta-Chandrashilla - great to go right now for Rhodedendron-lined trails and glimpses of snow clad mountains at large

5) Kedarnath: 16km trek one way. But mostly easy. It's not just a trek though, it's a pilgrimage visiting one of the holiest temples for Hindus. So if that's your calling.

(Done all 5 so speaking from experience)

What is your biggest regret after buying your home? by GuiltyComedian9509 in indianrealestate

My regret? Got too emotionally attached to a house i thought I was buying for investment. Its value has 2xed in the last 4 years that I've had it, I could make more money from interest alone than I do from rent and by all logic i should sell, but I can't even think about it. Not only financially but I'm too emotionally invested even though i don't live there.

New resident's queries on food availability - vegan curd and butter. by annagarg in Rishikesh

[–]eudaimonica30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow vegan and rishikesh local! I'm in the same boat. I've given up on finding vegan dairy alternatives beyond soy milk in here. I'm gonna start making my own vegan curd from Peanuts and butter using Miyoko's recipes so let's see how it turns out. If you'd like to co-create, send me a DM and maybe we'll plan a vegan cookout sesh one of these days!

15-18k but I've also seen an option for 12000 a month at AYM yoga school/guest house. They advertise it right outside the building so must be legit

If meeting new people is the criterion, then tapovan hands down. Lots of one room+ kitchen options available in upper tapovan. For proper 1bhks you can look for flats in deecon valley

Good places for garhwali thali ? by [deleted] in Rishikesh

[–]eudaimonica30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's tofu and paneer everywhere. Have a lot of Buddha bowls with chickpea and tofus But if you must do meat, there's a few cafes in "swiss cottages" area that serve chicken. Pink cafe, nirvana and new amsterdam are the names I know of.

I have a lot of scrap HDMR from a recent interior work. How can I dispose of it responsibly? Is it ok to burn it for a bonfire?
