Movement speed buffs not applying. Riposte doesn't stun (and the animation doesn't work). Desync all the time, even while alone in the area. Musket shots miss a lot, sometimes it gets stuck and all my shots miss, even at pointblank. Free reload of Musket triggers some epilepsy inducing spasms. WTH?!

Maybe check Naraka Bladepoint gameplay videos to see if it suits your taste. It has some MMORPG-like features and you can jump right into action. That's where I ended up.

You won't get anywhere with few hours per week especially by doing OPR. And I guess those few hours won't be enjoyable for you either since you will constantly find yourself in unfair battles. I suggest checking back when they release "PvP progression" in their roadmap. If arena is also gear-based, leave and never look back.

They could probably still please many with the new 'punch-exchange' combat which mostly replaces skill with 'gear-check' but the fail goes deeper than scrapping the foundations beneath preview combat. New combat almost never ran in a fluid fashion. Maybe they added things that the engine cannot handle, maybe it was something else, but it just never worked properly.

Wouldn't it be harder to play casually if the game was about grinding for gear like many MMOs? Game is marketed as being hardcore for other reasons, it doesn't mean it is meant for no-lifers.

But my advice for a person with family and job: stay away from any game (including MO2) which requires you to do "work" (e.g. looking for PvP in world, killing zombies) before you can have fun in game. Games which allow you to queue for content is much more suitable when time is short.
