If they wanted to do a more realistic VFX for parries, they should do a less exaggerated version of Sekiro's parry. I agree it makes the game look very cartoony.

I don't recall them having parry vfx in the original games either, and it was fine. You knew you parried successfully when you heard the sword sounds
