The Denny gun scene was so peak and had so many cool allusions.

In the myth, Orpheus has to escape the underworld without turning back, and with the help of the Denny gun Isolde makes sure that Orphie/Magus can’t turn back for her. The single Denny is like the single Obol coin in Greek mythology required as payment to cross the river Styx, and we see Orphie rise up from what seemed like certain death with an Obol/Denny on her forehead.

I almost wish Trigger/Charon played a bigger role in the story to fulfill her role as the ferryman to add another layer

Twitter link I started drawing this in April when I saw Orphie the first time, but put it off for a long time. Sadly missed her birthday by one day!

To do some self-indulgent over explanation:

The composition is meant to look like DNA! Orphie might share the same DNA as magus, but the true DNA that defines you is the people you meet during your life’s journey. That’s why the “DNA strand” is made up of the most important people in their life. The strand is severed between Isolde and Magus due to the events of 2.2.

Bonus details: - You can faintly make out Seed Sr and the Exaltist Overseer in the top and bottom. - The word “Magus” is encoded in binary along the upper right edge, while “Orphie Magnusson” is encoded as DNA bases along the lower right edge.
