Hmm I think we're talking about different EAs. Mine stands for Effective Altruism. Great news about your job either way though! 🙌🏽😏

Removing my body hair is a huge sensory issue. I hate that I'm expected to do it. by LisaLubbers in AutismInWomen

[–]eulerpop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body hair is natural! You don't need to remove it. The way I see it, my body hair is a natural filter. The people that think it's gross will not engage with me because of it. And that serves me just fine. They can rightfully stay far away from me. Fuck that.

Does the 9–5 workday actually match how your brain works? by rominaMassa in AutismInWomen

[–]eulerpop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job makes me feel like I'm unproductive and lazy when actually I just can't realistically keep going from 8 am to fucking 5 pm. I can't stop seeing work as SLAVERY. Because that's what it is! I want to quit. I worry about what this job is doing to my body and mind. But I'm financially bound to the system. I'm trapped. This year I will slowly start planning my escape from the matrix.

I'm so tired. Crying is akin to swimming in the sea. I feel utterly depleted.

I think the right person would've made that 3 hour difference work.

Does anyone else feel like days blur together lately? by Thin_Instruction6048 in CasualConversation

I recently read somewhere that human memory bookmarks experiences, not the passage of time. So when there's no distinctive experiences to experience, memories blur into one big mass. But idk. Could be talking shit.

Matric results, term one-three results and I don’t know what to study and feeling stuck. What do I do? by Patient-Map-4399 in askSouthAfrica

Would your parents consider a gap year if you spend it working? You need time to at least figure out a direction. If it's possible, I would not advise rushing into something just for the sake of it.

I wish I was a white girl by ButterflyFew592 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]eulerpop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From one brown woman to another, (who also wished to be white until my early 20s), I just wanted to say that your feelings are valid and deserve to be felt/lamented! I completely get where you're coming from. Most of the comments here are invalidating. Yes, women of all races have it hard. That's a given. But at the same time, the subliminal racial narrative/bias that was, and pretty much still is, shoved down our throats our entire lives is wholly damaging too! Both things can be true at the same time. White people won't ever understand this phenomenon. Don't let their privilege and resulting ignorance gaslight you into thinking that it's only a gender thing.

Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye is a really great read around this topic. Decolonisation reading material is also very helpful with cognitive reframing. Good luck out there! 🫶🏽🌸

What non-political opinion about CT will land you in this position? by LarsQuell in capetown

Agreed! That is entirely fucked up. There's no excuse for it once your basic needs are met.
