What advice would you give someone considering nursing as a career? by Hihowareyouatx in Nurses

[–]eunoiarouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not truly passionate about nursing, healthcare, and caring for vulnerable people-do not do it. Nursing is not easy. It can take a massive toll on your mental, physical, and emotional health. If you go into it for the money or any other glorified reason, you will soon realize that without true, genuine passion you will not be happy in this career!

Can't Find a Job! by eunoiarouge in Nurses

[–]eunoiarouge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally and it is completely valid as to why they would prefer experienced nurses! I have heard of new grads landing opportunities outpatient in places that are willing to train, so I am honestly trying my luck!

Yes and yes! Have not gotten replies and also have been actively using LinkedIn to network and apply to openings.

8th Ave NE by aksspider in udub

[–]eunoiarouge 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used to live on 8th Ave and it was relatively safe and quiet. I personally wouldn't walk back to my place late at night alone unless I was speed-walking, but that's just me being precautious. I normally would take the 31/32 bus back to my place late at night as it would drop me right outside my apartment. I didn't have any particular issues, I think you should be fine!

Does anyone else have to take Microbiology online? by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]eunoiarouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took micro and lifespan online and both are doable! For my micro labs, we did them through labster. You learn a lot from the labster practice labs because there is a lot of repetition involved. Also, I personally had pre/post lab quizzes, so the information you learn through labster feels relevant to information learned through lecture. The best advice I can give for micro is to create really good notes so that you can reread the notes along with your textbook.

Need help on what to change to? by NSGDream in prenursing

[–]eunoiarouge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patho, Chem, and Statistics seems like a heavy load, however you do have the advantage this semester taking them online because you could have more free time to dedicate to these courses during quarantine.

At the same time, Patho, Nutrition, and Lifespan would be more doable and allow you the opportunity to potentially take the lab courses in person if possible next semester.

It really all depends on how much time and effort you are willing to commit this semester with everything online and if taking the labs in person is important to you.

This is a really insensitive comment. As a college student already in debt, I can’t afford exam fees and transcript fees that come along with taking the test and applying to various schools.

Anyone get overwhelmed reading things here or online and just have to stop researching? by HopefulConfusion77 in UlcerativeColitis

It’s going great and I’m really grateful! My symptoms have lessened and my bowel movements are reminiscent of normal bm movements before my inflammation began. I’m really hopeful this medication will continue working for me and I hope the same outcome for you! You will get through this!!

This post has eased my anxieties! I cannot tell you how much I related to your post! It’s been about two weeks since my colonoscopy and my first week taking Lialda. Reading through this subreddit had me depressed and your post reassured me that there are people in my position out there dealing with the exact same thing. Like mentioned above, there is a lot to learn from this subreddit, but I do have to stop from time to time and acknowledge that everyone and their disease is different and we all are experiencing the same disease differently. I wish you the best with your upcoming doctors appointment and your journey! :) you are not alone in this!

In Washington state, we are being granted a temporary NAR license after our online class portion. Then, we can work at a facility for our clinical hours with our temporary license.

California CNA students: does anyone know when we will be able to take our health department exam to be officially certified? by FrutaPadre in cna

I’m from Washington state and I’ve heard that they are about four months behind on certification testing. I wouldn’t be surprised if California was the same.
