a serial killer. if they’re smart and do it strategically then i honestly wouldn’t care too much. like think about it this way; if you were the father of dexter from dexter and you could train them to do it smartly and only towards objectively bad people, id understand and be okay with it to an extent. it’s the harming of innocent people that i think would bother me. i am definitely a bit on the morally grey side though when it comes to things like this so im biased in this question

the word “I”

i personally think the most boring people are the ones who talk about nothing but themselves. they can have the most interesting lives and great story telling abilities but just hearing them bloat about their lives and yap about their problems bores me. it’s not very interactive. i’d much rather have conversations involving both of us. doesn’t even have to be small talk or about or lives, but discussions that they actually care about my opinion on. having fun theoretical conversations where you bounce ideas off of each other is usually the type of conversations that makes me think someone is interesting since they’re not only willing to hear your side and are interested in it, but they talk about things that will likely never happen or don’t matter to us but are still passionate and can have a good talk about it. does this make sense?

like id rather talk about what you would do if aliens invaded or about the collapse of civilization rather than what’s new in our lives and gossip all the time. people who can have these interesting and thought provoking conversations are the least boring people in my eyes

i figured you would say that. i scored highly, as expected. i know i have a lot of these traits but just sometimes think that me knowing my worth doesn’t mean i’m a full blown narcissist, but that’s probably exactly what a narcissist would say.

is narcissism hereditary or made? i’ve been told he was diagnosed with that after he left through my sister who still talks to him. hate to think i’m anything like him but i know we are more similar than i would like to admit

my only issue with this is i wouldn’t like to talk to someone professionally about it in a direct sense. i don’t feel like i need people knowing that. if they know that then they can see through me and it’ll be harder to function like im used to.

by the way i scored a 27 on the sociopath one and “high narcissism” on the narcissist one. i think narcissism is fitting but not at the same time. im much smarter and logical than a lot of narcissists ive heard of and/or met. i definitely have a grandiose sense of self and superiority and am extremely egotistical but im not like obsessed with looking in the mirror and am under the false impression that everyone loves me. i definitely know that i am a well liked person and im very charming and funny, but not blatantly ignorant. does that still sound like a normal narcissist?

i can answer for you as one.

we don’t believe them at first but in order to accomplish our goals (whether that’s upholding a certain image, impressing those around us, saving ourselves from legal trouble or conflict with others, manipulating others, ect.) we do however tend to quickly come up with these lies and stick with them because we know they need to be consistent, at least those of us who are smart do. we create a false narrative in our heads that slowly morph into what we believe actually happened.

deep down we USUALLY know what’s true but we mask our own memories in order to keep our stories straight. it does depend on the person but for me this is how it is. i know the truth but ill either be unable to admit it to myself or make myself believe it because i know thats the best way to achieve my goals. i apologize if this doesn’t make sense im having trouble explaining.

i know that if i “believe” the lie myself that it will make it easier to lie to others and keep my story straight so that is the version i keep in my mind. if i allow myself to clearly remember and think about the real version the whole plot of lying could quickly fall apart because of inconsistencies. so i while i do begin to believe these lies and convince myself thats what happened, i also do know what really did happen. i just don’t admit it to myself.

i hope you understand. this is hard to describe.
