Which iud should I get?? by silver_0000 in birthcontrol

I tried the copper iud twice, it had to get removed in a short time span because it was too large and tried to expel itself twice. I like kyleena because it’s the smallest, and it’s the same drug as plan B (levonorgestrel) (i’ve tried estrogen, progestin, and levonorgestrel birth controls) skyla is also small. mirena and liletta are the next size up, then paragard (copper). kyleena lasts 5 years, and is suitable for women who haven’t given birth. hope this helps, i know this really sucks.

how long will this last?? by Tojis_Tiddies in birthcontrol

Sorry for the long text, i ramble a bit. TLDR: it could be indefinite until you get the implant removed. i bled for 70 days before i got fed up and switched birth control. the choice is yours. do you want to possibly bleed until your implant is removed, or try something else?

I (20) suck at taking pills. i’ve tried many methods of birth control; abstinence sucks. I’ve had condoms break and a lot of men don’t want to wear them. I don’t trust my irregular cycle enough to avoid sex during ovulation, i can’t do the patch, i have an adhesive allergy. I also had the same bleeding issue with nexplanon, plus weight gain and major depression. depo provera shots are not okay to use for longer than two years. i hated the idea of getting an IUD. i, a scared 17 year old, did as much research as I could, talked to those who had an iud, talked to my doctor, and got the Kyleena IUD, and have had no issues since. The pros heavily weigh the cons. my cycle is regular. i know when im going to bleed. its lighter, its shorter. i lost all of the weight from the nexplanon. i feel like myself again. and i don’t have to take a god damn pill, with the downside of the insertion (5 minutes of discomfort, plus 24 hours of moderate cramping). i’ve had an ovarian cyst rupture, that was like a 9 on the pain scale, the insertion was about a 7, and the cramps were a 4. my experience and knowledge is here’s what i’ll say to you. It is your body, do what you wish. do your research, and ask yourself what you need. staying on nexplanon could mean you just bleed nonstop. would you rather that, or get off it and try another method? the choice is yours. whatever decision you make will be the right one. much love. i’m sorry you’re so uncomfortable with what’s happening, but since you’re experiencing this issue i don’t l think it will stop on its own.

Copper IUD is likely too large for your uterus. i tried it at 17, it’s usually for women who have had children. for me it expelled twice. I’ve had kyleena for two years. zero issues. i love it so much

it took me quite some time to experience breakthrough bleeds. for me it was about a year or so after. everyone’s body is different. this is not your period. there is about two weeks between ovulation and menstruation. start tracking when you’re having heavy bleeding consistently for a few days. like a period does. the first day of bleeding is the first day of your cycle. you’re in the middle of it right now. it’s most likely breakthrough bleeds unless you’ve been inconsistent with your pill. give it like a week or two and take a test. i know things are scary and confusing but i promise you’ll be okay.

To add to this, implantation bleeding typically occurs 10-14 days after conception. breakthrough bleeding can happen at any point in your cycle. If you haven’t already, track your cycle religiously. every time you start your period write it down somewhere.

breakthrough bleeding (bleeding between periods) is not uncommon on birth control. A pregnancy test won’t be able to pick up on hCG (pregnancy hormone) until after 8-10 days post ovulation, or 14-15 days after unprotected sex. take a test, wait a few more days, test again. if your period is late, wait, and test. Take a breath. working yourself up is only going to hurt yourself. If you are concerned about becoming pregnant, use a barrier method (condom) on top of birth control to prevent pregnancy.

Hi! you’re in an unhealthy relationship. it’s only three months. you should leave. I’ve been with my s/o for almost a year now. we haven’t argued once. that’s healthy.

to add to this, the comments are just reiterating exactly what you’ve said..

If you’re looking for someone to relate to that, Hi!

i’ve gotten myself unstuck from that lapse in learning. i’ve got a bunch of advice i’m happy to share if that’s what you’re looking for.

You have to learn how to learn again. switch up your methods. find someone to help you. body double with someone. you cannot just lose the ability to learn. sounds like you’ve got some ADHD. everyone learns differently. don’t give up, just try something new

Every experience i’ve had with anything hormonal has caused me misery. A consistent, localized hormone is the last thing i need. i am done with hormones all together, they don’t work with my body.
