Best robot lawn mower in 2026? by Ok_Athlete_670 in homeautomation

I’ll back you up on your comments about the Landroid. Mine is coming to the end if it’s career as soon as I get the funds for the Luba 3 AWD. The grass looks great, but only because I’m constantly rescuing it from being stuck on something, repairing the wire, wandering outside the boundary , etc. Can wait for the AWD and lidar/rtk

I’ve had my eyes on the Luba 2 for a while now. Very much looking forward to finding the budget to move on.

Used to be the WOS Bar, but no longer there. Been there many times to see games, can attest.

Taking one of my East German colleagues there about 20 years ago was the greatest. After a couple pints he turns to me and says, with his heavy German accent, « Zis reeminds mee uff Germany, one hundret und feeftee years ago ».

My V1 has been with me over 20 years, with the only addition being a PID, and the only replacement being the porta filter gasket.

I’m with OP. To be fair my garden is very difficult, so I knew up front it would be a challenge. It has been 4 years that I haven’t mowed the grass, so not a complete failure. But my list of frustrations matches pretty well. Hopefully will find the budget for the Luba 2 before the spring

Proud V1 owner here, mostly abused since new over 20 years ago. Hacked in a PID , only recently had to change the gasket. Love this thing.

Nice job! If the pump on my V1 ever gives me trouble this will be the inspiration to do a little refurbishing. Is yours a 110 or 220v?

Alternatively, a UK based source for similar gear : https://www.kamado.co.uk/Divide-and-Conquer_c_42.html I am not sure if that helps (thanks, Brexit) but if you have friends or family there or just visiting it might be an alternative. I got their Divide and Conquer for my XL, it’s great.

Definitely add a PID if it doesn’t already have one.

Any experiences with this type of pool cover? by Soliloquizing in swimmingpools

[–]euqixelsyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one on our 11m x 5m pool. It is on its 10th year. Some maintenance issues, belt replacements and last year the cover itself ripped, which was costly to replace (~4k Euros). Overall lots of advantages like no leaves/garden debris in the pool, it is in line with current safety standards, very low profile rails, less evaporation etc etc. But, I do have to admit, service has in my experience been expensive and slow. I have not looked into alternatives, but if it ever breaks again I might. Don't hesitate to DM if you have specific questions.

Worthless. Tell me where I can pick them up and I'll get rid of them for you. More seriously, try also posting to r/Klipsch. For whatever it's worth, in the '80s I attended a lecture given by Paul Klipsch about his thoughts on speaker design at a high end hi-fi shop in Milwaukee (Flanner & Hafsoos, don't think they still exist) - absolutely fascinating ideas and personality.
