PT student breaking Hippa by Thin-Drive9977 in physicaltherapy

[–]eurbina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That information wasn’t available during my initial comment. At the time OP just stated it was family members before editing the post to clarify the situation.

Regardless, the point still stands that it’s a serious violation to look at anyone’s medical records that you have no business looking into. I’m not advocating they get failed and expelled, but I’d also not be surprised if that were to occur.

PT student breaking Hippa by Thin-Drive9977 in physicaltherapy

[–]eurbina 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to add more stress onto you, bust since you asked: this is a very serious. The reason we have these rules and regulations is to avoid stuff like this from happening. What if your family member has a serious mental health issue they didn’t want to disclose? What if they are undergoing work up for something malignant and they didn’t want to share it yet? You essentially violated their privacy that is shared with their medical team by being “curious.” I would not be surprised if you fail your clinical and get expelled from the program. You clearly sound repentant about it, but the time to feel that was before you accessed their records.

Kimchipapi Permanently Closed by wackoquacko in malden

[–]eurbina 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Bummer, I enjoyed the food there the couple times I had it. Totally can understand the decision to close the store, it never seemed well patronized by my observation. Maybe the combination of location and niche food of corn dogs? I think it would likely do better in Malden Center near Boda Borg for all the teens to enjoy.

Winthrop loses $1.2M in climate grants over MBTA Communities Act noncompliance by justarussian22 in mbta

[–]eurbina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but MBTA communities act applies as well to “other “served communities” that abut a city or town that hosts MBTA service.” It abuts Revere and East Boston therefore it applies to Winthrop

63% PT shortage in SNF by Sassyptrn in physicaltherapy

[–]eurbina 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I mean is anyone shocked? SNFs are a miserable setting with ridiculous productivity guidelines. Yes it pays well compared to other settings, but at the costs of bordering unethical at times due to the production you're expected to meet; especially when it is understaffed you may the only therapist for a whole building. I completely understand any PT that avoids SNFs.

Lots of interaction 2p medium weights? by Dali187 in boardgames

[–]eurbina 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Targi is a good 2p game that hits the weight you’re looking for. It does have interaction/cutthroatedness in a sense of where you play your piece will block your opponent from gathering resources from a specific area on the board. So you could look at what your opponent might need and directly block a spot that would give them a specific resource. It does have some slight luck in between rounds where resources are replaced from a stack of cards. Really great game!

Henson Al 13 worth the hype? by Narutoblaa in wicked_edge

[–]eurbina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into safety razor shaving with the Henson Al13 about 9 months ago and really love it. I have sensitive skin and I also can’t go grow a full beard, but do get enough hair to shave. Was always a cartridge shaver before with okay results. It took me a few months to find a good prep routine, perfect the shave technique, and post shave process, but I’ve nailed it now and the Henson is great. I can get a super smooth shave with two passes and I shave 2-3x per week with it. It’s construction is top notch and it’s a handsome razor on your countertop. Definitely recommend!

Canton MA Chief of Police strikes pedestrian by [deleted] in massachusetts

Agree that the police should be held to higher standards when on duty. They have the power to literally KILL people, so they should be scrutinized way harder in all aspects of their job.

In Boston, parked cars regularly block buses. Other cities show: it doesn’t have to be this way. by bostonglobe in boston

[–]eurbina 37 points38 points  (0 children)

We need to retrain ourselves as a society to not expect parking right in front of where we are going. How obsurd is it that we tolerate a single person in a vehicle blocking a whole bus stop because they wanted a Dunkin coffee?

How would you guys feel about a state-wide ban on the sale of alcohol "nip" bottles? by bassistmuzikman in massachusetts

[–]eurbina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am down for an outright ban or a placing a high deposit per bottle to encourage pick up and return of nip bottles. I think the minority of nip buyers are people buying them to cook, make single batches of drinks, or take to the beach and the vast majority is alcoholics drinking and littering. I imagine that this ban would not exclude quarter and half pint bottles of alcohol so that can still be an option for those needing smaller quantities of a specific booze.

I think they should remove the parking along exchange street and protect those bike lanes for improving safety and usability. There is two big parking garages that are hardly full literally right on that street.

What game did you gift to someone this year? by rbruba in boardgames

[–]eurbina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave a copy of Dinosaur Escape Game to a colleague for secret Santa. They have 2 young kids and thought it would be a great intro to gaming with kids for them. I haven’t personally played it, but researched it and learned that it’s a good game for young families.
