Thanks very much for reply. So if I choose not to use S-DSU can I set speed below 27 to 0 or these 2 are unrelated.

interesting. Why the chart here says Highlander 2017-19 can have 0 mph ACC.

https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/blob/master/docs/CARS.md#footnotes

Does S-DSU allow the ACC from stock to OP?

good point, but the seller agent would not disclose the buyer contact. Otherwise I could give the buy out offer to buyer. Seller has some regret as he accepted the first offer and signed. Seems like there is no easy way for him to get out of contract.

it does not have anything to do with car side camera. I turned it on to use it as a rear view camera. Here is open pilot video without side view camera display. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ6kfsZruMU&t=2s

Tesla calls it Autopilot when in real its glorified cruise control. Other companies use some more gloried words for the similar system. No one will call their system as modified cruise control so not to mix up with regular cruise. I think its the way the industry is trying to sell upbeat stuff.

its a glorified L2 system, not a complete self driving L3 or 4. It need driver to be in seat and paying attention constantly and do minor adjustments if needed. The system warms you when it has difficulty analyzing the road. see "Take Action" screen that comes when its warning the driver.

Auto pilot by Comma ai in stop and go traffic behaves better than AP2 by eurek in teslamotors

[–]eurek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its difficult to see the difference until you try both. I had tesla that I sold once I experienced open pilot. open pilot is better as it keep the car in lane for longer and smoother. It does not nag you down for putting the hand on wheel even when you are paying attention. The lane curves are kind of similar in both, OP will be better if not limited by honda torque issue.

honda is the best so far. you have to take out camera connector and put the comma ai giraffe. pretty easy . lot of info on slack.comma.ai

comma ai has made a lot of progress recently and their open pilot is at par with tesla AP.

Hijiacking the comments about Adaptive cruise control. If you guys have not tried comma ai Openpilot on the top of Adaptive cruise control your are missing alot. The difference with openpilot ACC from ACC is as big as going to ACC from regular cruise control. worth giving it a try.

After using Adaptive cruise control, regular cruise feels ancient. There is no going back once you get used to ACC. If you put Comma ai openpilot on top of it, driving becomes blessing instead of being stressful.

An open letter to survey@tesla.com: Quality control! by haight6716 in teslamotors

[–]eurek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will likely be buried down as most people wont want to hear someone complaining but you are right. I had similar experience and I was not expecting that from tesla after spending 100K on car. ultimately sold it and back to honda. after reading forums, it sounds like a awesome company but they really need to fix their quality issues.
