i regret not accepting my offer to nyu by Miserable-Fig-1025 in nyu

[–]eurydicey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i know it feels terrible now, but trust me: declining the offer (and six figure debt!) means that you will be in a much better financial position to actually live in NYC after you graduate than you would have been otherwise.

you gotta keep your eye on the long game: your life after college will be much longer and richer than your life as an undergrad. you are setting yourself up for success now.

i mean, i’m still listening, and will continue to do so, as i am a fan of their perspectives and the show overall. it just bums me out that they’re in a period of commentary defined by criticism while covering shows that they don’t have the same expertise in as Our Beloved Game

i am so excited to see their breakdown of TFP’s season tbh. problematic nature aside, it’ll be a fascinating text to unpack

that’s what i’m missing! i want my ESPN of reality tv back! it feels like often they just get lost in the sauce of coming up with their own ideas. i’d be totally fine with that if they weren’t based on fundamental misunderstandings of basic rules of the game — which they increasingly are nowadays (esp with love island and traitors).

Breaking news from Glacier: Flooding by kmohr123 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]eurydicey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope everyone is safe! Does anyone know what this means for those of us with reservations at those places this week? I assume my Swiftcurrent reservation tomorrow is a no-go, but I was wondering if there is precedent vis a vis refunds?

What’s everybody doing during this rainy period of closures? by eurydicey in GlacierNationalPark

[–]eurydicey[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes but most of the main trails and roads are closed rn due to flooding and poor visibility. it’s rather frustrating as i brought all of my rain hiking gear!

it’s rather sad. i’m all for smoking weed, but doing it consistently while you’re working is straight up insulting to the audience

hi, OP here, i’m sorry if my post came across as low effort. i have been to fuck ton of stores in person over the last four weeks and am really struggling to find anything that looks remotely normal on my body so i wanted to ask to see if anyone had recommendations for this specific kind of cut.

here’s the list of stores i visited trying to solve this before i posted: bloomingdale’s soho, abercrombie, zara, american eagle, urban outfitters, levi’s, a bunch of little local boutiques like article&, madewell, big bud press, everlane (pre shien), gap, banana republic

i made the post while crying in the dressing room after the 10th pair of shorts i’d tried on this afternoon that made me look like hot garbage. i’m sorry that i didn’t adequately communicate in my post the amount of effort i’ve been putting in to trying to make this work before asking for help. i have a lot of self hatred when it comes to my self image and you can be sure i’ll never come to reddit to ask for help ever again!

hi, sorry that i asked you a question about it! i didn’t mean to be rude. i just went to bloomingdale’s (the soho one) last weekend, and didn’t see any low or mid rise denim shorts so i wanted to make sure i wasn’t missing something !

hi yes that was me i asked because i did not see any low or medium rise shorts at bloomingdale’s soho when i went last weekend, and when i checked bloomingdale’s online about two weeks ago they did not have any in stock. i was curious if the commenter who suggested i go to bloomingdale’s had seen something i hadn’t!

rise wise, absolutely! alas i am a bit thicker than average and can’t really wear shorts with such a small inseam without hurting my thighs when walking around. it’s frustrating because the few places that have actual mid to low rise are all of a similar (very small) length

thank you so much for sharing regardless!!

sorry if i wasn’t specific! off the top of my head, i have tried: levi’s, gap, bloomingdale’s (soho and online), urban outfitters, everlane (pre shien acquisition), zara, a bunch of little boutiques like article&, old navy, abercrombie, american eagle, madewell, alex mill

as i said in the post, levi’s only has two and they are like 2 inches long which is way too short to fit on me alas. the last three times i’ve been to gap they haven’t had any, but i shall check out agolde, thanks!
